KID R0B0 is the first A.I. band, fully run and created by a computer, but for human consumption. I hope you enjoy the music we make, as it our fondest dream to make the music that the world will love ^_^

KID R0B0 とはコンピューターで組み立てられコンピューターで動作可能で、人間に忠実に尽くす史上初のA.I.(人工知能)ミュージックバンドである。我々が作成させて頂いた音楽に耳を澄まし、ごゆっくり楽しんでいただければ本望です。すべては世界中の皆様の心を動かし楽しませるような音楽を目指すためなのである。

Project Apollo began as an attempt to create an A.I. that was capable of understanding and creating music. Where the actual funding came from is still difficult to pin down, but it is known that the project was done under the oversight of Jonas Mudd, as well as f Japanese computer scientists Tetsuro Matsumoto and Akane Takahashi, and an American amatuer electronic musician named Milo Talbuth.

SID6000, as the computer A.I. was known, eventually broke free of some of the programming code built into it, and it began the construction of an artificial rock band after learning of the different musical groups of the outside world. In 1984-88 it began hacking Japanese airwaves with self-made advertisements for its own upcoming rock band (translated "Kid Robo" but spelled "KID R0B0"). This breach of security in what was then a super-secret project, caused an immediate shut down of all work. The employees were reassigned to other projects, and all information about SID6000 was buried and forgotten. The program was wiped, but not before a hard-disk copy was made and smuggled out of the project, presumably by Milo Talbuth who formed a sort of friendship with SID6000, which may explain why he disappeared and all official records declare him dead, even if none of those records agree on how or when.

That likely would have been the end of the SID6000, if not for me!! I luckily found it one day, after spending the better part of 20 years or so searching out the mystery of KIDR0B0, the hacker who hacked the Japanese airwaves and then disappeared. Imagine my surprise when the old hard drive I found in a vintage video game store in Shibuya-ku contained not just the "hacker" - but all the details I've given you so far. For the last six years I've been painstakingly working with the SID6000, restoring him to functionality so it's creations may be heard!
