Dervişlik özüne hâkim olmaktır,
Esir-i nefs olan derviş değildir.
Aşkı rehber edip hakkı bulmaktır
Keşkül, teber, âsa, tığ, şiş değildir.

İbadet namına kalkıp oturma,
Bağırma, tepinme, göğsüne vurma,
“Ya Hû!”, “Ya Hakk!” diye köpürüp durma
Zikr-i Hak hazm için geviş değildir.

Sırr-ı hakikat'ı gönülden öğren,
Gönüldür aşk ile didârı gören,
Arif-i âgâha o zevki veren,
Beng ü bâde, afyon, haşiş değildir.

Dünyada cennete girenler varsa,
Vech-i Hakk’ı ayan görenler varsa,
“Enel Hakk” sırrına erenler varsa,
Sarhoşluk yüzünden ermiş değildir.

Boz yılanı tuttu, çivi yuttu erler,
Pirimiz duvarı yürüttü derler,
Keramet olsa da böyle hünerler,
İnsanlığa yarar bir iş değildir.

Keramet umma hiç necef taşından,
Ayrılma insandan, öz kardaşından,
Hakk’ı göremezsin bağlar başından,
Gerçek er sultandır, keşiş değildir.

Mamürede doğar, manevî insan,
Terbiyeyle büyür, kudret-i iman,
Senin aradığın nimet-i irfan,
Yaban yerde biter yemiş değildir.

Ham ervah her yerde var yığın yığın,
Nedir onlar ile verip aldığın?
Uzlete mail ol, gönlüne sığın,
Cihan gönül kadar geniş değildir!

Rıza‘dan himmet al, berzahta kalma,
Serden geçmedinse ummana dalma,
Dervişlik sözünü ağzına alma,
Demir leblebidir, kişniş değildir.

Shaykh Khalid Yasin was born in New York City USA as a Christian, where he spent most of his childhood. The Shaykh embraced Islam in 1965 with the late Shaykh Daud Ahmed Faisal, of the Islamic Mission of America. 
The Shakyh has studied over the course of thirty years, Fiqh al-Sunnah, Aqeedah, Ahkaam, memorization of Qur'an, Islamic History, and the Arabic Language, with several well known teachers and mentors. His main teacher is Shaykh Khalid Al-Halwaany of Makkah, Mukarramah, who is a student of Shaykh Safar Hawaaly, who is one the leading scholars in the world today.

The Shaykh has dedicated the last thirty-five years removing misconceptions about Islam and Muslims. He has delivered lectures in more than sixty-one countries worldwide, resulting in nearly 40,000 persons embracing Islam directly from his hands. These figures have been corroborated through many sources. There are thousands of people around the world who have embraced Islam after listening to his over one-hundred recorded lectures.

There are hundreds of students in Saudia Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Australia, Europe, United Kingdom, Canada, and The United States, who have completed the Da'wah Techniques, Da'wah Management, and Islam 101 courses, three of the most powerful and effective courses offered by the Purpose of Life Foundation.

The Shaykh has dedicated himself in the past ten years to advising young Muslims, especially those who are minorities living in Western societies towards citizenship and social responsibility. He has been constantly working towards the revival of Islam in the world and the uplifting the consciousness of Muslims.
