The first time I went to a techno party, a long, long time ago, it was really incredible. It was dark, there were repetitive rhythms, sounds that transfixed me. People were euphoric, smiling, everyone was connected to this music. Later I went to a lot of clubs in Belgium, each time it was an incredible new discovery. Then I went to Germany with friends to clubs and raves. There was this famous day when I went to Berlin to the Halle Weißensee, and I think it was on this day that I really wanted to start making music. How far we have come since these incredible moments
Afterwards there were many evenings I played, I don't even remember them all. In Belgium, and many other countries, all incredible moments and great people I met. 
But remembering the beginning like with this mix, it always feels good.  ENJOY !

I was extremely honored to be featured on the legendary Essential Mix show this summer...  When I was in college, my teacher used to play us Essential Mixes in class, and on the 20th anniversary of the show,  Pete Tong was hosting James Zabiela and Sasha at the Warehouse Project in Manchester. I was the first one in the queue and the last one to leave the club! I will never forget that night. This year I had the honor of meeting Pete Tong at IMS Ibiza, and I think you can imagine how overwhelming it was to be invited to record a set for the show.  Here is my Essential Mix. We excited to present the second instalment of our VKFD series, we have started this series as a platform for budding artists to display their talent and have decided to give back to our community by enabling the free download function for the entire series.

This time around we welcome Glasgow based artist @14md to the series with a hard hitting industrial track.

Inspired by the harder side of electronic music from a young age, 14MD has began to hone his craft as a producer drawing influence from some of the heavy-hitters of the scene and we are excited to showcase the fruits of the  artists labour.
