C'mon (Feat. GRiZ)

'Sundance' - the EP, was written and recorded almost entirely whilst traveling Canada, from the contents of my bag. After a long winter of binging, snowboarding and neglecting music, I thought it time to finally be productive, and make an album. While 'Sundance' (named after one of the streets Lilli and I stayed on in Banff) has fallen a little short of an album, am proud to finally release it. Everything you hear was written, performed and produced by me, hence why its so rough. Consider this part of the whole DIY aesthetic. Thank you Lilli for your help with the EP cover.

The EP has four tracks of varying styles:

- Start Again, was inspired by leaving the comforts of home and starting again. It's a ballad, with themes of break ups, existentialist breakdowns, and suicide.

- In Praise Of Rashness, was written as the title suggests. While writing this song I deduced that overthinking was the source of pain, and sometimes just going for it was the best solution. 

- Moon Face, goes on a slightly different tangent. A narrator tells the story of 'Little Johnny', over spooky orchestration, in a 'Tom Waits' style.

- Til The End, was the designed to be a hit. With the advice of Austin Kleon, I 'stole like an artist', from three of my favourite musicians (Gorillaz, Milky Chance and Vance Joy).

Olga Solar is taking her first steps into the Australian indie pop landscape with her debut single ‘Tulips’. The playful and honest new track, recorded at Sydney’s Linear Recording Studios, teases the release of her self-titled EP due later this year.

Olga has most recently channelled her love of music making into a deeply personal yet dynamic solo act. A graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Olga has worked as a driving force behind an extensive array of musical projects, from theatre to art music, both as writer and musician. However, with the release of ‘Tulips’, she finally steps out from behind the scenes and embraces the once-dreaded spotlight. The genre shift announces a fresh voice borne of her diverse experiences and ventures.
