Ariel Zetina is a Chicago based artist, focusing in music production, deejaying, and writing. Though her music can be considered techno, she takes inspiration from Chicago house, Belizean punta, and the queer club scene worldwide. These influences can be heard on 2020’s “MUAs at the End of the World” EP (Femme Culture); and "Marsh" (self released); 2019’s "Organism" (Majía); “Shell” (Head Charge); and 2017’s “Cyst” (Boukan Records). Her DJs sets have been worldwide. She is a resident at the legendary house club Smartbar, co runs the party/mix series Rumors, and is on Discwoman’s roster. She is also a playwright, and has had her plays performed in Chicago, California, NYC, and Baltimore.

"(this is a lot of "club era" songs aka 2014ish? I am finding myself revisiting this era a lot and finding new rhythms and melodies in these tracks. A lot of these were in my mixes around that time and this is kind of a refurbished and recontextualization of those sounds. That just sounded heady- it's first and foremost a dance mix. "

this is my friend noel, aka alejandro marenco.
from the dancefloor to the record store, our friendship came to be through music. 

we both share the same love and appreciation for all those swung sounds heavy in bass and percussion. working at the same record shop, we would freak out about records; more often than not we are by the speaker at the same parties; we've shared the booth together; and each set of noel's i have seen has been absolutely the vibe. one of my favorite chicago DJs, to be honest, so i'm excited to share this mix of his with you. 

if you're noel's friend, he will big you up. and that's what raving is really all about. he truly supports the endeavours of his friends whether it's sharing mixes, showing up at the party, or spreading the word about his friends' achievements.

this friendship mix is literally all tracks made by his friends ~ some of them mutual so i’m over here like look at this! 🥹
