It's been over a year since I recorded the last Lab Group mix - so much has happened since then to say the least. Watching Lab Group grow has been one of the most incredible things I have ever witnessed. From endless new music, to traveling the world and sharing it with all of us along the way, I am so grateful to be existing at the same time as Lab Group. 

With that being said, I want to recognize the tragic loss of our beloved CharlestheFirst. It's almost impossible to come up with the words to describe how incredible of a person Charles was. I am forever grateful for the art he gave us, the emotion and unbelievable hard work he put into his craft. He loved us, and we love him so much - I know he will be watching over us all. 

For now, we all have to try and keep our head above the water - for eachother. I recorded this mix with Charles, Kyle, Hunter, and all of his close friends, family and fans in mind. There were so many more tracks i wanted to include, but this collection of music just felt right. I hope it brings you peace, happiness, and helps you remember all of the incredible times you've had that were created by the beautiful mind of CharlestheFirst, Supertask, and Potions. Love you all. Very heartbroken about his passing... He just turned 25..I can't believe this legend is gone so early, with so many amazing accomplishments already achieved, but so many years of inspiration and success ahead of him. You all are loved, all of you could touch souls. He definitely touched mine. His track falling leaves was my alarm I woke up to every morning for over a year. I ran a mile at Okeechobee fest just to catch his set in time. His music, poetry and place in the bass community and music overall will always live on and be respected. Rest in paradise..

These are some of my favorite tracks he's released and it's what I have to hold onto, seeing that I never met him in person, just a human who made beautiful poetry and sounds that have been with me for a while. enjoy what he's left behind, his creations as much as you can. listen to every beat, every dynamic turn in every song and feel the energy that could never leave us, and with it - we will love him forever.

Ganja White Night - White Widow

Much of my process recently has been pure obsession. While I don't claim to make perfect music, that mindset of perfectionism naturally comes with shadows of disappointment -- the disappointment in one's own abilities when the inevitability of underperforming occurs. When I look back on the reasons I started creating art and music and look at my methods now, I realize that I want to shift back towards that playful spirit. This EP is a tribute to a younger version of the creative in me -- the version that didn't care as much about perfection as long as I could experiment with sounds.
