When I was younger, I always wanted to travel to a big city.

It didn't matter which one. There was nothing to do in Mississippi, really. I didn't think there was much opportunity there for a young kid from a small town where you had to drive to go everywhere. 
All I really had at the time was my innate musical talent, a guitar, and a strong imagination. Music was the best thing that was happening in my life at the time and I always had the vision of growing up to be a rockstar. The question for me was, how the hell do I get there? Or, more generically, "How do I achieve the life that I want? Because it's not here. What does it take to get there?"

Song Story:

The idea of this song came to me when I moved to Coimbra, Portugal.

At this time in my life, I just got out of a divorce with my first wife (only wife so far as I write this),  I was building a completely new lifestyle where I started going to the gym, working really hard on my software, going to music events to perform, and getting my life together and organized, yet still working on my self-esteem issues that with messages from my past and my ex-wife, I thought there was just a never ending hole I couldn't fill.

I realized overtime that self-esteem does improve and grow the more you focus on you, taking care of yourself, truly becoming impressive and strong, not out of ego but a lot of hard work and focus towards your goals while also having patience in becoming the person you wish to be.

I couldn't figure out the whole "relationship and love" thing at the time, so this song is to capture the emotions and feelings of this time where I felt like no matter how much work I did on myself I wasn't sure I was never going to find a love like I'm looking for.

Good news, I did enter a relationship with a very loving woman during the time of writing that song. It ended up not working out for my own reasons but not out of low-self esteem anymore. This girl truly loved me, I just wasn't the right person for me now and was looking for something different.

Now I'm happy with being myself, working on my music, and acknowledging that the person I am will be important no matter where I go, so this is the place for me to focus.
