It is a well-known fact that 19th-century Russian music had a significant influence on Western music. One example of this is the violin concerto Concerto russe by the Spanish-born French composer Eduard Lalo (1823-1892). The second movement of this work was performed at our concert on May 14 in a transcription for cello and piano, entitled Chants russes (Russian Songs). Bela Pukanszky - cello, Erzsebet Dombine Kemeny . piano. The recording was made in the Auditorium Pyrkerianum of the Eszterházy Károly Catholic University of Eger during the concert on June 12, 2025.
