D. Phaze Hampton walks to the rhythm of his own drum. What makes him so unique and different is the way he intertwines street wisdom, melodic flows, relatable messages for the everyday individual with a mixture of Islamic principles. D. Phaze was born in the late ‘80s in Waco, TX and relocated to Dallas/Fort Worth area in 1998. In his formative years, his admiration for music transcended into a way of life. Being raised around Hip-Hop most of his life, soon enough D. Phaze started writing his own lyrics. Most of his music evolves around growing up in Dallas, realities of life, struggles and triumphs. Turning the worse of times into beautiful music. Greatly influenced by his dad and uncles, Verbal Seed, he also looked up to other artists such as, Nas, Scarface, Kanye West, and T.I. just to name a few.

D. Phaze believes the RIGHT music can be therapy to anyone in need. He doesn't put a label on his music, nor a limit on what can be accomplished by doing what you love.

In 2013, D. Phaze signed with Black Son Media Group. Since September 2013, Black Son Media Group has continued to release free online albums every month and continues to this day. Thus far, D. Phaze has released 2 solo albums, “In Between Time Vol. 2: Hidden Talent” in 2013 and “In Between Time Vol. 3: Dec. 20th” in 2014. He has also released 3 group projects, “The Hamptonz” in 2014, “High Times @ The Hampton Inn” in 2015, “In The BELLY Of The Beast” in 2015 and collaborated on many others.

We all have a voice, we all have a story, Dallas wants to be heard and needs to be heard. But most lack originality and determination. Before I die, I want to be remembered for being me".

​For as long as I can remember, music has been a huge part of my life.
​Growing up in Oak Cliff (a tough town just outside of South Dallas), I didn't have the best living arrangement, but music was always an escape for me. Music actually kept me off the streets long enough to save my life, and my story with music inspires others to pursue the same route.

While in the secular music industry, I realized that what I created wasn't helping my community. My friends were still dying in the streets due to gun violence and going to jail. The attention I was getting brought "haters" into my life (people without my best interest in mind), even at the local level. I realized that my life was in danger in the route that I was going.

​​From all of that, I ultimately realized that I needed to give my life to Jesus, to save my life and help save the lives of others through my music and my testimony. Now I'm a radio host, music producer, executive director, minister of music and more, striving to give Him glory in everything I do.
As a music producer, sound engineer and song writer, I've been blessed to work with a great group of artists such as Harmini, nobigdyl and Pyrexx. As a radio host, I've also interviewed many Christian artists such as Capital Kings and winner of Season 1 of Sunday's Best, Crystal Aikin. As a singer and musician, I've performed for Coretta Scott King, Maya Angelou and Johnny Cochran. Projects I've worked on have been featured on such networks as MTV, BET, WorldStar Hip Hop, Rapzilla, Thisis50.com and the CW.

People often say I would've made millions of dollars by this point of my life, but I'd rather be a millionaire in the will of God than to be an enemy of God.
