About the album:
This is a soundtrack to imaginary nightime streetscapes in a world that resembles our own.
Crumbling asphalt slick with oil and grease reflects the woozy glow of late night bodegas in acrid pink, yellow and green.
Drakkar Noir is a feceless figure who inhabits this world, an alias shamelessly lifted from a sleazy and long out-of-fashion scent, a brand name derived from a mashup of mythical pretensions and hollow advertising jargon. Part Human and part digital fiction, Drakkar Noir is, like the city itself, a shapeshifter who feeds and is fed by the collective dreams and nightmares floating above the buildings and into smoke-filled skies.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from SY/N. The Italian producer presents his fourth album 'Where Nothingness is Bliss', out May 30th on HIDE. Alongside the music, SY/N provides the complementary book "631x", which presents the story of a fictional world, permeated by a sense of social criticism and an underlying theme of internal struggle.

Molded through a cyclical process of writing, recording, reworking, and transcribing, this organic sonic tapestry masterfully weaves together a dense mesh of field recordings and distorted sound design, showcasing an all new interplay between digital wizardry and real life chordophones, ranging from lishy strings to obscure folk instruments. In this release the melodies play a more prominent role than ever, steadily flooding the listener's heart with touching progression and otherworldly choirs, which at times accumulate into gargantuan walls of raw emotional release.

The compilation open with "Night Watcher" by Avenue313, a Detroit style track filled with atmospheric sounds and a solid bass-line. It's followed by g13ck's "Malicia", a track with Electropop influence and a monster bass-drum, than the third track is "Rhythmusmaschine” by SLAKER has an modulated arpeggio and rich vintage synth sounds. To close Aliensextoy with "Antizer0 Reversal PRG", a groovy track with a unique synth hook and evocative speech samples.

We live near a creek and walk along its banks on most days. The surrounding fields are full of thistles, which attract large numbers of goldfinches this time of year. It’s a beautiful scene I’ve attempted to capture in this composition. I hope you enjoy it!

n recent years, a programming phenomenon called Slow TV by Norwegian public broadcaster NRK2 has been very popular. Slow TV is characterized by hours and hours of continuous coverage of fixed cameras on a subject or event.

Past programs have included a seven-and-a-half hour train journey, a 134-hour coastal cruise, 12 hours of firewood burning and 18 hours of salmon fishing.

And now American producers are interested in this slow-moving entertainment.

Recently, US production company LMNO Productions acquired the rights to bring the Slow TV format stateside.

Also, NRK program "Northern Land train minute by minute" (Nordlandsbanen minutt for minutt) has been imported to be broadcasted in over 100 television stations online in the United States in new year.

Around 1.1 million television viewers watched the program "Nordlandsbanen minutt for minutt" about longest railway of Norway after Christmas last year

Emotional Rescue follows up the success of the Suns Of Arqa’s Brujo Magic EP (ERC002) with this special screen-printed first vinyl addition of remixes from the cult producer, Muslimgauze.

The meeting of Suns Of Arqa’s dub rhythms and ethnic harmonies with Muslimgauze’s Industrial cut-up atmospherics, noise drones and colliding rhythms creates the perfect result, that could easily of been crafted this year rather than the 20 years ago.
Released as CD only in 1996, the story of how the minds and music of Wadada and Muslimgauze met is as much the result of geography than the mutual musical desire to work together.

Based in Manchester throughout their career, the meeting was upon Jones seeking to work with Wadada. After a visit to the latters home, a full set of the bands recently recorded master tapes were handed over and then some month later the tracks on this album were mailed back in return as you hear them now.

There was never a meeting again between the two, but the material produced was such that it appeared in two differing versions for release on their own respective label outlets.

This first time vinyl addition takes the recordings as they were originally released, from the Sun’s own Arka Sound album and picks 13 tracks that show the marriage of World music with these inspired remixes.

Bryn’s untimely death at just 38 created a cult that left a huge cannon of work that is still being discovered and hopefully, this album will add to that legacy.

Released on vinyl for the first time, with screen printed sleeve by House Of Traps, the Re-mixs will be available in June 2013.
