Brooklyn minimalist electronicists Glass Gang merge the finest in Trap, Rap, House and a particularly amazing chopped and screwed remix of the Artful Dodger's 'Rewind' on this 34 minute mix of emerging musical thoughts that provide a brief insight into the mind of  Brooklyn's Glass Gang, who have just dropped their debut mixtape Lower. It's a powerful singular statement from a shapeshifting group that still exists in relative anonymity despite their sharing the stage with artists like The Range, Ryan Hemsworth and Trust over the past few months. With sounds ranging from Shoregaze to UKG, the self-produced release is the sound of a band doing something unlike their peers - pulling from disparate genres to make something entirely unique.

Impatient fans have already made release cycle calculations. The Frankfurt insider circle already knew unconfirmed details. And now finally Datapunk is letting the dancing cat out of the bag: 2010 is starting with an Anthony Rother thunder clap.

So the electro producer is sending a first maxi rumble across the country with „Disco Light“, so that it can make condensation and can soon be unloaded as the „Popkiller 2“ album. Actually „Disco Light“ docks where Rother found new expression with his award winning long player „Popkiller“ (2004). Matured into unadulterated sound, but at the same time Rother’s youngest step into „Moderntronic“ essencing is in no way revised, but rather added as a further dimension. The result is a charismatic club track and catchy airplay tune at the same time, with Rother’s notorious bass growls, distinctive central beat and finally the shimmering melody as garnish to exponentiate Rother’s singing homage to the power of a perfect party night.

Prime Time alternative no one less than Berliner &Me delivers a remix. Powerful and distinctive the producer establishes once again why he was one of the shooting stars of 2009.

Now it is time to enjoy and speculate on which songs Anthony Rother will send over the full „Popkiller 2“ distance to his fans. To be continued soon.

Troy Schafer (of Kinit Her, Wreathes, Rain Drinkers, et al.) and frequent collaborator Dani Schafer began this recording project, a musical work to celebrate their relationship together, just after moving in with each other in 2009. Over the course of the following years they continued to develop and deepen the content of this musical project just as they have their personal relations. Now married and living far from where they began, they have finally turned in the result of their efforts, a beautiful record under the banner of the aptly christened Devotion. Those already familiar with the Schafers' musical forays into the hidden recesses of folkish trance and the moving cadence of ancient melodies, as is well documented in their work with Kinit Her and Wreathes, will be thrilled to hear them sink all the more deep within these sounds of their shared atmosphere and to stretch out within the music of their own hearth. Maidenly vocals soar, with glorious harmonies twisting over a stirring rush of stringed and brass instruments and propulsive percussion, with Dani's voice drawing familiar timbres from the memories of classic 1960's acid folk goddesses. Despite the haunting inherent in this and all music born of those with their roots deep in the soil of Wisconsin, Devotion is able to safely make their prayers within the sanctuary of the each others loving grace, and this feeling weaves itself with warm reassurance throughout the entire album.
