Freedom

My composition, Étude et Pluie, is inspired by the lo-fi chill music used for studying. By definition, lo-fi stands for ‘Low Fidelity’ and is a genre that includes music or production quality which imperfections of a recording are audible as a deliberate aesthetic choice. It’s often known by others as DIY music, because of its cruisy and imperfect nature. My composition emerges as a study beat that mimics what I go through when completing schoolwork.

étude et pluie (lofi)

The piece, Blooming of the Sakura, is inspired by the features of Japanese traditional Folk music and Yu-Peng Chen’s compositions and shows a mix between the two. Its purpose is to be an exploration theme, used in the game Genshin Impact in the region of Inazuma.

My composition, Ocean Bound, is inspired by indie/surf rock music for relaxation. By definition, indie stands for ‘independent’ and is a subgenre of rock. The term is considered broad, so I’ve decided to narrow it down to a sub-genre – surf rock, which has some of the following characteristics: surf-related lyrics, high harmonies, guitar solos/riffs, and high reverberation. My composition emerges as a surf-rock song to listen to in peak surfing conditions during the summertime.

This whole song basically has an extended metaphor of the term commodore, so whenever I say it I’m referring to “the relationship”.
