Composed of Tanya (@t-n_dj) and Monique (@moniquearaujoratedm), Call Connect have prepared an hour of juicy leftfield tech, hard-hitting breaks and 4-to-the-floor trance-inspired acid that begs to be moved to alongside the loudest speakers at your disposal. Both brimming with talent in their solo projects which includes being well-seasoned DJ's, there's no shock that joined together the pair has already become such a formidable force in the dance community, which this mix does not shy away from reminding us!

Emkay (Maria Korkeila) is a designer, DJ and producer currently based in Helsinki. Korkeila plays regularly at Helsinki's clubs from @PostBar to Club Kaiku and Stidilä, in addition to which she hosts a monthly radio show called Tête-à-Tête on @Ida_Radio Helsinki where she explores house, trance, or techno music from many perspectives. Releasing music since 2008, Hassan Abou Alam is one of Egypt’s musical exports. Over the years, he has released on international labels such as Casa Voyager, Naive, Rhythm Section and Needs. He also worked with Red Bull’s RBMA where he was given the chance to mingle musically with the ancient people of Luxor to create a spellbinding live performance in Cairo, fusing traditional folklore with electronica. Hassan also performed live for Boiler Room a few years ago, showing his versatilely as an artist and cementing his status as one of the most exciting artists right now. 

In this mix, Hassan pulls together some of his favourite tracks at the moment, with records from Koreless, LCY, Walton, Karenn and more. The master’s at work.

vol. 55 comes from Eastern Distributor, a fast-rising producer and DJ out of Warrang/Sydney with a penchant for creating and mixing energetic, proggy, trance-tinged techno, electro and broken beat. He's also one of the minds behind @shed_syd as well as resident at local techno party Renegade. Daniel's slew of self-releases and contributions to local labels like @innertheft and international labels likle @pokeyprods are all killer and his mixes are just as good, with the @bizarro-recs mix being one highlight. His melt mix treats us to an engaging selection of diverse electronica spanning a wide variety of genres, tempos and moods, from dubby slow jams to speedy prog. We love it!

Test subject 1.8 is Eora based creative IV Drip (@iv-dripp), who brings us a transmission veiled in claustrophobia and suppression. Spinning together heavy-weight bass pressure, agitated breaks and chaotic melodies, this recording is representative of differing layers of energy and emotion battling to break free from a world of confinement.

"I found the image kind of chaotic which I guess translates when you listen to the mix. While I was putting it together it was peak lock-down time, and I actually found it was a really good way to get out a bunch of pent up energy that I didn’t have an outlet for." - IV Drip on her approach to mixing using the provided stimulus.
