On may 2024 (so it's passed 6 months...) @belial-pelegrim presented to the world Taffeta 189 which can be found here >> https://soundcloud.com/belial-pelegrim/taffeta-189. A masterfully crafted piece from his unfinished story-driven musical series.
From the very beginning, this track fascinated me to such an extent that a melody immediately appeared in my head. In a burst of self-confidence, I asked the Master for the file of this song so that I could put my melodic ideas into it, just like I did with Donak RV's song https://soundcloud.com/r-u-r-pl/duo-melodica-rur-nylon-guitar-remix. And the strangest thing is, he willingly agreed to my idea!
So I tried it and here we are. It's been a while since then, but I think I've finally finished it. I sincerely hope that you will like the effect of this cooperation.

Peace riding on the waves of emotions - Ft Special Cecilia

Please enjoy my latest offering to you all. It is another seagoing inspired track. Over the years I have seen many deep ocean whales in their natural setting but only once have I seen a pod and it was awesome. There must of been at least twenty of them spread across the bow at distance. I immediately reported my sightings to the captain who immediately stopped engines.  He went on to explain that in this situation you have two choices you can go hard to starboard or port depending on our postion relative to the whales course or simply stop the engines and take in the view explaining the chances of seeing another pod this large is very remote. this all happened long before smartphones came along so we had no way of recording the event. This took place when I was nineteen and I am now 71 and it is a memory that has stayed with me all these years. So I say to all our fantastic young people .... You are at the stage in your life were you are creating your memories .... .don't waste a minute. Thank you all for the great support you give me.... love and peace..

The Resilience of the Immortals
When the Great Chaos swept across the universe, it altered the fundamental laws of reality. Time, once linear and stable, shattered. Aging stopped abruptly, plunging humanity into a state of physical immortality. While this transformation initially seemed like a blessing, it quickly became a burden. Bodies remained unchanged, trapped in eternal youth, but minds continued to accumulate memories and pains.

Over time, many succumbed to a silent madness. Emotional scars no longer healed, amplified by an existence where every wound of the soul remained intact. Yet, amidst this chaos, a strange evolution emerged: human intellect, freed from biological constraints, developed exponentially. Geniuses appeared at an unprecedented rate, creating technological and cultural innovations that seemed to defy the impossible.

The first centuries were marked by a desperate struggle to adapt. Deprived of the ability to die, humans had to redefine their way of living. They built protected enclaves—bastions of civilization where advanced technologies stabilized the gravitational anomalies created by the Great Chaos. These fortified cities became sanctuaries, but at a terrible cost.

Machines were designed to extract energy from immortal bodies. “Conductors,” humans connected to these systems, powered the technologies necessary for collective survival. Although their bodies didn’t age, their minds gradually faded, turning them into hollow shells. These sacrifices, presented as voluntary, were often imposed by a ruling elite that saw these individuals as an infinite resource to exploit.

Despite these horrors, humanity experienced a golden age of space exploration. The gravitational corridors revealed by the Great Chaos opened pathways to the stars, allowing humans to expand beyond their homeworld. The first interstellar ships, powered by the energy of the conductors and built with the inventions of new geniuses, were technological triumphs. Yet, these advancements also highlighted the growing moral fractures within society.

Amid this tumultuous era, a silent resistance began to form. Some refused to see immortality as an opportunity for exploitation and started questioning the very foundations of this new civilization. These rebels denounced abuses of power, growing inequalities, and the neglect of fundamental human values.

It was in this context that Vano, still an ordinary man from Lille, began to feel the weight of this new reality. Though not yet the legendary captain he would later become, he observed humanity’s deviations with growing melancholy. At this point, he hadn’t yet found his place in this changing universe, but a spark was igniting within him. He didn’t know it yet, but he would become the symbol of human resilience—the one who would unite the shattered fragments of civilization to remind them of what they had forgotten: their humanity.

This song began as an idea that Chris came up with on his acoustic guitar, and shared with Josh. Josh, loving everything that Chris writes, jumped at the opportunity to work on it.
Josh first added the melodic lap steel you hear throughout. Then, in the same session, came up with and recorded the mandolin track. He believes Rick Rubin's mantra, when it's flowing, keep it going. This song was the first of about half a dozen that Chris shared with the Eclectic Collective back at the beginning of summer. So, it sat dormant for about five months, until Chris revived it by adding the impressive rhythm section of bass and drums to complete it. Chris is always a multi talented part of the team.

When it was all in the can, we asked Stephen to mix it for us, because his mixes are always so pro sounding. He also mastered it for us, too.

This is the first song that Chris and Josh have recorded as a duo in almost a year. However, they love recording together and feel this is a great way to start the New Year with some magical music. We all hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

I am retired and have taken up music again (after 60 years since I last played the classical piano)for my pleasure. It is great to redo the old classics with the modern sounds and electronic instruments of today. I
