Has rather an alpine air to it I think- very fine!

A companion piece to ‘I Really Couldn’t Have Done It Without You’- again, composed largely of Electronisounds loops,with just the bass and the EP stabs to keep me honest as it were. A slightly more chilled feel than its stable-mate. I just had to escape from the hardware for a bit, and this is the result.

I wanted to assemble a track using only Rob Jackson's 'Mood Units' on iOS. So I did.

MUsings

Started out as an experiment looping a section forward and in reverse. Turned into some sort of prog rock guitar style of things. Except I'm no Gilmour.......

Gravitational waves

I assume this is techno because I assembled it from techno-type loops and beats. I’m sure someone will tell me if it’s not... Very little actual playing input from the artist here, the track being put together from loops and arps found lying around on the iPad- most of them from the Electronisounds stable. It makes a nice change from battling with hardware!

I Really Couldn’t Have Done It Without You

An unthreatening little piece in 3/4, nevertheless made a little eerie by the burbling synth under the lead. This is in fact one of the more pleasing tones that can be extracted from the Make Noise 0-Coast, but I’m not complaining. Its wilder sounds would, sadly, be completely out of place on SC, but I’m sure that they will find their way into a YT video in short order.

A Brief Interlude By The (No) Coast

Started out with an idea strumming the guitar. Ended up with an accordion. Just another day in the life of my musical brain.

Serenade

Bit of an odd time signature, but that’s what you get after watching Make Noise’s tutorial on the SQ-1 sequencer. This may sound as though I’ve just mashed up a bunch of other people’s samples again, but with one exception all the sounds here are my own work. So there.

FourSevenFour

A somewhat more ‘textured’ version of the piece recently uploaded to my YouTube channel- called ‘0-Coast riff(er)’ there- comprising several iterations of a sequence played by riffer in iOS on the Make Noise 0-Coast. I’ve only lately learned that this is even possible (the 0-Coast doesn’t do midi over usb, after all) by means of the SQ-1 used, not as a sequencer in its own right, but as a midi-to-cv converter. The added value here is a truly eerie arp from Ice Gear’s Kronecker synth, while the rather Euclidean drum pattern has been shipped over unchanged, because I’m rather proud of it.
