The owner of Intelligent Sound Gals brings us a special vinyl mix of Minimal and Micro House for Deep Groove.

Zhenya aka Gals tells us that in his adolescence he spent part of his free time in a club where he helped his mother to work, his brother also introduced him to the resident DJ of the club and it was there that he gained a passion for electronic music. 
Remembering the name of the DJ and the name of the club where he spent time working, Gals started his career as a DJ in 2005 with the classic house style. Soon after his regular visits to the historic Sunwaves festival, Gals began developing his style in Minimal and Microhouse.

"Microhouse is a rather difficult style to perceive, some call it music for intellectuals, hence, by the way, the name of my podcast @ intelligent.sound, created with inspiration and for fun."

Zhenya says it's more than just a podcast to him now - he's a community of DJs and enthusiastic listeners.

We are certainly beyond glad that Zhenya aka Gals is joining our Deep Groove family.

Having a special edition of our series, we invited Dinu, which is an inspiring musician for the minimal sound. He started to collaborate with Priku since 2018, but being more focused on live performance, he had his debut with the Atipic Live project. Elegantly clearing his mind with the piano, drums sharply hit then some floating harmonic elements makes him to create these beauties for the world.

As music is a universal language that connects cultures beyond borders and we are an independent platform focused on underground electronic music and arts, at this time we stand for peace, so we curated a Various Artists compilation to raise money to help Ukrainian artists during these hard times.

A lot of producers from many countries responded to our initiative, swiftly building on an archive that incorporates various shades and styles of electronic music, from laid-back and serene soundscapes to driving rhythms and textures. The first volume features 15 tracks signed by Ilya Yansima, Maayan Nidam feat. Life on planets, Matheiu & Max Jacobson, Nils Weimann, Odette, Orbit, Paul K, Peshka, Pîrvu, Ramona Yacef & Bill It, Shato, Unisson, Valeria Croft and Yaroslav Lenzyak.

All revenues collected from the sales will be directed to the bank accounts of the Ukrainian artists with whom we managed to get in touch, such as Animated Sounds, Peshka, Komponente, Yansima, Ilya Cheise, Vlad Barocco, Orbit as well as the initiative launched by Antipina Anna and Silat Beksi.

Firstly we want to thank everyone for contributing your creativity, generosity and positivity to our fundraiser for the ongoing humanitarian crisis that is ongoing across Europe. We hope you are all safe and well, and wish the best to your friends and families. 

The last three years have been incredibly difficult on us all, and it is inspiring to see our united music scene come together once again in response to the atrocities in Ukraine. We hope for peace as soon as possible, and we must prepare to rebuild and help the affected people to recover from this tragic conflict.

Sadly, the people of Ukraine will need support for years to come. For this reason, our fundraiser will be making weekly donations to Closer Kyiv's fundraiser appeal. We will make regular posts on social media regarding the fundraising process to show how much this album has raised.
