LerKu is a young artist at the beginning of his career, currently based in Călăraşi Romania. He discovered his passion for electronic music at only 16 years old and he started remixing songs,and by 17 years old he started creating his first own projects. Nu Zau, Dabu, and Sepp are some of the DJs who helped him get the inspiration. Even if it is the start, he believes he can do something great in the future.

Lerku - Synapses Podcast 11/2024

With a multi-decade spanning back catalogue behind him, Bearface aka Raj Panasa shows no signs of slowing down. Over the years he has built a sturdy reputation around his distinct and innovative feel-good touch whether that be on his own Beartone Records, or the many other labels he has shared his classy sound with.

“Remakes and Raw Cuts Vol. 1” is the launch of a new vinyl series from the London-based producer, a safe place for him to showcase his eclectic sound, alongside edits and remakes of some of his favourites over the years, all finding a home on his Beartone label.

Starting off on the A side Bearface provides a funk fuelled latin explosion with his version of the classic “Tudo Que Você Podia Ser”, sassy disco attitude ready for the summer months, presenting some unforgivable dance floor mania. The A2 “Got To Be” is an original cut, meandering between playful guitar licks, and stripped back, hypnotic percussion, there is a curious atmosphere as the track continues to simmer.

On the flip side an edit from the revered beatmaker. First up he edits “Tell Me I’m Not Dreamin’” by Jermaine Jackson, the infectious vocal injects a zesty life into a killer electro groove, a playful and animated trip ready to rock the floor! Closing out the EP is the retro sounding “Everything”, the robotic vocal flashes in and out, nodding towards Daft Punk, boasting beautiful strings and crispy hi-hats bringing that day time energy.

Bearface teasing those summer moments with a jam packed EP brimming with sunshine and positivity, dive in and feel the fun!

Hudd Traxx makes label history with its first-ever full-length album, Dial Me In, from long-time affiliate Iron Curtis. Aptly, if it wasn’t going to be label boss Eddie Leader, Curtis is the natural choice — having contributed more tracks across more releases than any other artist in the label’s history. Across ten tracks, he delivers a journey that moves between deep house, ambient textures, and eclectic grooves, flowing effortlessly from club-ready jams to home listening moments. The warm Speak to Me Baby (Ambient Mix) opens proceedings before the synthy, Berlin-tinged 1Up {premiered here} sets an understated groove. Roxy and the title track Dial Me In bring rich chords and deep house warmth, while lead single Troubles delivers a hypnotic, low-slung sway. 

Tensione strips things back with bass-heavy, breakbeat energy, and Bodycode rides a beautifully deep house pulse. The final stretch expands the palette with the floaty Dance Inc., the rolling Signal Signal, and closing cut Slipstream, tying the journey together in style. A landmark LP for Hudd Traxx — diverse, soulful, and built for both the dancefloor and beyond.

Following the label’s last release from Dumitrescu, the UK-based label Myriad returns with a stunning vinyl release, with Czevski (the alias of a well-known UK producer) and Tulbure both contributing two tracks each courtesy of the stunning Secunda Dominica EP.
Label founder Louie says that working with Tulbure and Czevski feels especially meaningful, as their music had a strong influence on his early sound:
“Long before the label started, both of them had a big impact on how I connected with music, so it’s a real pleasure to be collaborating with them now.

Looking ahead, Myriad has more music on the horizon, including a release from another UK-based artist and close friend of the label. For now, the rest remains under wraps; a reflection of the label’s approach to letting things evolve naturally.

An intoxicating sound full of pulsating rhythms and enchanting melodies lands at the doors of Ben Jones 'Parallel Circuit' label, as DJ and producer extraordinaire t.na sees in the latest chapter in his upwardly mobile musical journey…

t.na, has been working his magic within the dance music scene for over 20 years. Originally from Manchester but now based in London, his stellar career began behind the decks, where his ability to join the dots between House, techno, electro, minimal, and breaks saw him play in some of the world’s most celebrated dancefloors. His curiosity with music production eventually developed into the founding of Pickled Music, along with affiliated labels Into the Woods, Afterwoods, Occult Vision, and Taste the Rainbow Records, which have all put out some top-quality dance records in the past few years. The curiosity wouldn’t end there, as t.na ventured into music production himself. Heavily inspired by the early 2000s tech house sound, t.na’s sound is one of sublime, progressive rhythms; thought provoking and considered melodies; and an overall atmosphere of joyous momentum, perfectly blending minimalist sensibilities with multi-faceted, layered features - all of which provide his music with lasting intrigue and with a profound sense of depth and meaning.

The ‘Ivan’ EP is yet another step onward, and as an experience, it is tailored perfectly for late-night dancefloor excursions and early sunrises. As soon as the title track begins, the anticipation goes sky high, with a rock solid beat interspersed with a bass note that bellows from the deep. Cosmic, technological sound effects add a certain complexion and feel up top, with a sprinkling of melodic features placed atop the mix with grace and feeling. The earworm of a mid-range key line is the winner here, perfectly finding its way into the heart of the track and propelling things forward. ‘Reeves’ comes next, and this number follows a similar trajectory to the opener. A pulsating beat provides the foundation for a hypnotic bass line to weave in between the grooves, as airy pads shift in the background. This number is all about the little things, with the softest of changes opening up the most exciting of new horizons.

‘SC’ comes into view next, and the feels remain high. A rumbling bassline wobbles underneath a cascading rhythmic section, with twinkling, unraveling melodic notes lapping over the top. The breakdown around the halfway mark provides a perfect midpoint for the track to pivot and shift gears, with a distinctive character coming to the fore within this section. To wrap things up, ‘Cezza’ sees out the journey with gusto. One final hypnotic beat to wrap around the dancefloor, subtle melodic motifs simmer through the backdrop, and an overall atmosphere of hands in the air, can’t get enough of it energy - it's a fitting end to a record filled to the brim with t.na’s signature swerves and energies.

t.na has built a sound based upon his musical passions and wide-reaching interests, and his distillation of these has conjured up a sound that is powerful, purposeful and joyous. ‘Ivan’ is yet another fine showing, and contains all the hallmarks of his style. Four tracks that will get any space moving, with plenty of euphoric sequences to get lost deep within - why not try it out for yourself…..

As the A2 offering on Erwin’s Ceylon EP - the second release on his boutique imprint Arepas Records - “Coconut Sambal” stands out as one of the EP’s most emotive and immersive dishes. While the label continues its culinary-inspired storytelling and collectible artwork concept, the music itself remains the true flavour carrier. And here, Erwin cooks up something deep, melodic, and quietly intoxicating.

“Coconut Sambal” drifts in on a warm, padded groove, immediately setting a dreamy tone while keeping one foot firmly in the dancefloor. The percussion stays understated yet precise, leaving space for the track’s defining elements to unfold: glowing synth lines that ebb and flow like slow waves, hints of Acid that curl around the edges without overpowering, and soft vocal phrases that add a human, almost meditative tenderness.

This blend - Deep House foundations, melodic sensitivity, light Acid breath, and vocal warmth - creates a piece that feels both introspective and inviting. It’s a track that doesn’t shout for attention but earns it through atmosphere, depth, and emotional resonance. Erwin’s long-standing ability to merge minimal clarity with dreamy textures is fully present here, refined further under his new moniker.

Within the EP’s tasting-menu structure - preceded by Für Immer and followed by Bibikkan - “Coconut Sambal” plays the role of the subtle yet flavor-rich middle course. Where the opener sets the scene and the closer delivers sweetness, “Coconut Sambal” offers the EP’s most contemplative moment: smooth, aromatic, and designed to linger long after playtime.
