This mix is dedicated to the vibe of Sunday Afternoon.  Whether you’re kickin back and relaxin, out getting your adventure on, taking a Sunday cruise or just rejuvenating from a wild weekend - this is your soundtrack.  

The songs in this are some of my all-time favorites and it was really fun and challenging doing something a bit different.  There are no originals of mine in here and I didn’t play any trumpet as I’m no longer playing trumpet.  That being said I tried to bring something fresh and unique while still dropping in some throwback gems.  About 100+ hours went into putting this together, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Here’s a studio version of my Bass Coast set from this last summer. Recorded on turntables and in one take (with a couple of scratch overdubs) to keep it as close to the live version as possible. Real sunny afternoon hip hop for the soul.

The Detour Drive Ep 1 Feat Megan Hamilton

Every year around this time, as the days get shorter and the nights get colder, I find myself spending more time solo, introverted, reflective. That's when this kinda music becomes my soundtrack. It helps me focus and appreciate the positive aspects of spending more time alone. The creativity, the learning, the self care, the perspective and change that come along with the winter months. 

I've wanted to make a "Chill Hop" or "Instrumental Hip Hop" mix for years and I'm glad I finally got around to it this year as we approach what will be, for many, the most isolated winter we've known. This one is for everybody out there who is feelin the struggle right now as we approach the end of a truly bizarre year. You're not alone.
