The London-based nanotechnologist, DJ, producer, and NTS resident with the monthly ‘Kestrel Explorations’ show conjures up a slamming and densely layered mix for ZeeZout. Il se trouve qu'en terres lyonnaise, son compère HLM38 dont il a signé un EP sur le label Kump verse aussi dans les choses lentes et enivrantes, avec cependant une pointe d'exotisme tout à fait assumée qui tranche un tant soit peu avec le métallisme dont nous a gratifié Gil.Barte. Quoi de mieux alors qu'une rencontre ? Ce sera chose faite sous l'alias Ricco. Et vous connaissez la bonne nouvelle ? Il se trame qu'ils pourraient bientôt rejoindre le beau catalogue de Worst Records. Â bon entendeur...

FUSE09 - Matti Turunen (Morphology)

The 9th edition of our FUSE series comes courtesy of Matti Turunen, one half of Finnish Electro legends; Morphology. Separated from his partner in crime Michael Diekmann through lockdown, Matti took himself away from his collection of adored synthesisers and drum machines to produce this rare, vinyl only DJ set, recorded exclusively for our FUSE series. The mix consists of some absolute gems in Matti’s collection, with styles ranging from early Chicago and Detroit to sublime, futuristic electronics, some of which come from other respected, underground Finnish labels and artists. 

Devoted to Electro, Morphology have been at large for more than a decade and have made their presence known with releases on labels widely considered by those in the scene as having royal stature, such as Central Processing Unit, Cultivated Electronics, Solar One Music, FireScope, Semantica and more. Being fans of theirs for many years it was an honour for us to bring them to London to play an unforgettable live set at our 16 hour extended rave at FOLD in August 2019. This party has gone down in our history as being one of our most memorable to date and the pair slotted into the lineup perfectly, alongside Regis, Kamikaze Space Programme, DJ Skull, DJ T-1000 aka Alan Oldham, Versalife, as well as front-line Natural Selection and FOLD residents; Kodah, Annie Hall, Voicedrone, Gareth Wild, Cressida and more.

The floodlights remain unshakeably fixed on the Finnish pair’s brilliance moving into this new decade. Their next EP “Qualia” comes courtesy of Exalt Records and will be released in July 2020.

This guest mix is very special for me because it's a pure Electro journey with quality and rare sounds and it's mixed by Feryne, who is an amazing and talented Hungarian dj based in the Netherlands. ;)

A real music freak, who has mixed her fave electro, IDM and techno tracks since 2005. She is the former co-editor of Selection Sorted TechnoPodcast, has been a guest in many-many radioshows and podcasts, she has played in many clubs and festivals of Hungary(Kontra, wndrlnd, Corvinteto, Müszi, Kuplung, R33, Egál,S.U.N festival,Ozora ect...) and also abroad, like Slovakia,Austria,Romania and France. She is currently based in Nijmegen(NL). Since 2018 she is running her own show, 'bAnger management' on FNOOB techno radio.
