Hailing from Detroit, he remains inspired by the deep electro and techno history of the city and uses that to fuel his work. For the second installment of ‘Define:Electro’ we have London-based Irish DJ, Gavin Mac Donagh, AKA @Gamadon, who has been DJing for over 20 years and been an avid Electro fan since the 90s. Gamadon started playing Electro out in Vancouver, Canada in 1999 with the Pound Recordings crew under the alias Dex of Hazzard. He has also promoted and DJ’d at several underground electronic music nights in Ireland and Bermuda. He has supported International acts such as The Prodigy, 808 State and Sunil Sharpe and is currently a resident DJ with Irish collective, Basement Project. Gamadon hosts a monthly live 2-hour video broadcast on @TimelineMusic2, beginning in the end of January 2020. The show is called Warehouse Manifesto, the same name as the label run by Gamadon.

@Phonatic lernte das Institut fuer Zukunft schon kennen und lieben, als das Projekt noch ein Gerücht, ein Mythos, alles, aber kein Technoclub, war. Über die Jahre hat er immer wieder im Institut gespielt und mit anderen Crews für eine Nacht kooperiert. Heute führt im Zusammenhang mit Phonatic natürlich kein Weg an seiner “Headroom“ Reihe vorbei, die vor allem in der „Paloma Bar“ und in der „Klappe“ stattfindet – 2 Jahre Erfahrung haben gezeigt, dass die kleineren Kontexte immer noch einen besonderen Vibe auslösen. Generell erfüllt sich Phonatic mit der Reihe auch eigene Fanträume. Mit dabei waren z.B. schon Efdemin, Lawrence, XDB, Barbara Preisinger, Nick Höppner, Kate Miller, DJ Pete, Carsten Jost u.a.
Sein Mix für Radio IfZ ist wie immer in erster Linie von neu entdeckter Musik inspiriert. Das darf aber gern auch alter Kram sein, der den Test der Zeit bestanden hat: „Wichtig ist mir ein roter Faden, den m.E viele, vor allem jüngere DJs, bei ihrem Fokus auf den angesagten Eklektizismus zu leicht aus den Augen verlieren. Divers spielen, aber dabei eine zusammenhängende Geschichte erzählen, das ist die große Kunst an der Sache.“ 
Mit dem Fokus auf Deepness  – egal  im Groove, in der Melodie, oder in der Dynamik ist Phonatic als DJ groß geworden und sein Sound beweist das nach all den Jahren immernoch. Aber hört selbst.

Radio IfZ #11 - PHONATIC

@aerialist_music is sensibly chosen pseudonym behind Vadym – a Kyiv born DJ and producer who has spent the past decade traveling the globe as an aerial gymnast. Consequently, he has won the heart of many in the most esteemed and vast venues in over 40 countries; nonetheless, Vadym chooses to nurture his talent for expressing himself through music and continues to be smitten by techno.

Electronic music has been a haven for Vadym for most of his life as he was constantly being drawn to clubs, where he would spend a large amount of time listening to DJs and scrutinizing their sets. These seemingly naive efforts lead to the decision of producing music professionally. 

As a project, Aerialist puts its focal point on dynamic and bold techno music, which has already been released on labels such as SYXT, A R T S, Planet Rhythm, Trau-ma, and London based Prodigal Son. 

We are more than delighted to feature Vadym’s talent on our platform with a podcast that will get you acquainted with the forward-thinking sound. We believe there is plenty to come from this promising artist and eager to hear more!

К вашему вниманию 8 эпизод ОКЕАНА представляет наш близкий друг, эмпат-нумеролог X_WAX. Видный деятель на прострах поволжья, яро болеющий за электронную музыкальную культуру, представляющий неотьемлемую часть андерграунд сцены г. Казань. 
Безусловно X_WAX новичок в диджеинге и в таком музыкальном жанре, как эмбиент. Ему более понятна роль промоутера в культурной группировке BNF г. Казань, инициатором и идеологом которой он является с 2013 года. За плечами BNF множество, как зарубежных и отечественных привозов, так и мероприятий разных концептов и калибров, от трехтанцпольных рейвов до виниловых ярмарок.
X_WAX имеет богатую историю до эпохи BNF в качестве коллекционера винила и глубокого меломана, являющегося тайным покровителем и вектором для многих диджеев и музыкантов, происходящих из зерницы Татарстана.
Этим миксом X_WAX выразил свое представление о музыкальном жанре эмбиент, через призму своего музыкального бэкграунда и дабовых историй.

The 8th episode of OCEAN is brought to your attention by our close friend, an empath-numerologist who is hiding himself behind X_WAX pseudonym. Being a renowned underground activist in the Volga region he is an avid supporter of electronic music culture and is claimed to be an integral part of underground scene of Kazan city. 
X_WAX is a newcomer both to djing and ambient music, notwithstanding he's been the solid promoter for years leading underground community called BNF since 2013. BNF has been responsible for vast array of different events hosting well respected foreign and russian artists and djs.
X_WAX has been enjoying a reputation of vinyl collector and true music lover possesing deep knowledge of electronic music history well before BNF. And in fact he's been an influence and stealthy encourager for both local artists and djs and those stemming from Tatarstan. 
In this mix X_WAX has made a humble attempt to show his vision of ambient music based on his musical background and his dubicious views.
