For my friend from Shrewsbury – and for everyone who is there for others with love and strength.

The Way You Stay is a very personal song I originally wrote just for a close friend. After hearing it, he told me I should definitely release it – and so I did.

It tells about the importance of being there for each other – especially when life gets heavy.

It’s about the quiet strength of caring and the love that lies within those moments. About two people who carry each other and the closeness that grows from it.

But this song is not only for him – it’s for everyone who cares for others, quietly, steadily, and wholeheartedly.

A song about trust, friendship, and the strength that comes from staying.

Behind the music:
From the beginning I knew I wanted a choir in this song. I thought about it for a long time, wondering how it could work. In the end, I recorded more than 24 vocal tracks – all with my own voice – and processed them in such a way that the choir is made up of many little Axels.

I truly hope you enjoy listening to it.

Once again, I've used Emily's amazing vocals in a way she definitely never intended. I am sure she didn't expect it to be in a rockin' track like this. I'm playing all of the guitars, bass and keys, and I created the drums out of midi loops. First of all, we wish the happiest Thanksgiving to all our wonderful SoundCloud friends and family. This song began as a twinkle in Artur's eye a couple months ago. Hey composed it with his Jaguar, as that is the premium surf guitar out there, and shared it with Tez, who invited the rest of us onto the project. 
   Tez, being the first on the boat, added his thrilling guitar fills and solos first. It was kind of odd the way we did this one, in fact, with the melodic/chordal instruments first, followed by the rhythm section. That said, JJ was next up to bat, adding his magical electric piano and soaring organ. Ken was first up for the backline, adding his driving drums. Josh then finally added his fretless bass to the stew. But before he was done, Josh also added the guitar solo you hear from 1:30-1:55. 
  After it was all said and done, we asked Tez to mix it for us, as he is a master producer and mixer. 
  This is the latest in a long line of surf rock songs of Artur's we've been fortunate enough to get to play with. He is the surfingest Polish fellow you will ever come across, and a wonderful, familiar collaborator with Eclectic Collective. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.
