i was a kid so i didn't know any better
i was so young, so it's hard for me to remember
all i remember is i was having a blast with them
growing up with my friends i was getting close to them
i thought they will always be there for me
i never thought i would see them leave before me
they left and went on the other side of the planet
i wasn't ready to say goodbye yet
so i started to turn into a savage
or a monster, whatever i was at a young age
i became a bad kid, my dad would beat me
my mom would ignore me, no one really consoled me
i must've been a pain for my family
so i figured i don't deserve to have a family
and from the way they've been treating me
i just wanted to leave and be by my lonely

i was too young to voice out my misery
i didn't know how to express my feelings
to me life didn't have any meaning
it came to the point where it's just about surviving
knowing that anyone can disappoint you at some point
i would have friends yeah but to a certain level
it was hard for me to be close to anyone at all
i made sure that if they leave, it wont take a toll on me
it's true that i became cold througout my life
but that was my way to not get hurt again
even then i would still feel pain
so anyone who wants to get close to me
beware coz you might get hurt
i might treat you like dirt
i might leave you just so that i don't get hurt
even when i actually want you part of my life

I'm from Mauritius (google it if you don't know where it is lol), it's a beautiful island with great beaches and a mixture of people and cultures. Now I'm in Vancouver, Canada, I came here to study computer science at SFU. I graduated last year and I'm looking for a job right now. Music has always been part of my life, it helped me through studying, through relationships, through life! I would always look up lyrics and sing along just to express my feelings when I couldn't talk it out. So recently, I went through a break-up and it was a really hard time for me. I couldn't talk it out with my friends and even if I did, I didn't feel better, the pain was still there. So I started to write songs, wrote my feelings down in my songs.
