I was originally planning on recording a 2 hour mix but I was having so much fun I decided to go for 3. Ciao Winter : Hello Spring is dedicated to the longer days, warmer weather, birds chirping, running water, and new life. As I shift from a challenging winter of covid to the new beginnings of spring, I look forward to gatherings, collaboration, creating, building, getting close, breathing, and dancing. Lots and lots of dancing. As I look back at winter, I give thanks for the growth that comes with challenge and the introspection that comes with deeper connections. This mix is a meditation on a love existing in quantum superposition of being simultaneously dead and alive whilst in a sealed box, where random radioactive decay causes a poison leak. (True story.) The box’s lid gets blown off by the radioactivity, allowing the state of said love to be measured; the result turned out grotesque. Interestingly, this love’s quantum states were not unlike the “superposition” of Russia’s states of war in context of a sealed container of disinformation. For me, both this love and war developed at about the same time, inspiring this set as a way to process the intense experience of oscillating between unity and separation, faith and dismay, sense and nonsense. (Making music to process the war alone was impossibly emotionally taxing, a grisly romantic distraction somehow softened the blow.)

The result is this intriguing downtempo composition that strings together gorgeous multi-genre music into a sonic journey that is both beautiful and occasionally unsettling. The set fluctuates from sensual and mystifying, to sultry and provocative, to pensive, and ultimately triumphant — in knowing that shattered illusion is but a release towards better-suited frontiers. 

Bear in mind, this isn’t a dance or party set. I’ve played it at intimate gatherings and on road trips with friends, while loading a burning man container for playa, during my morning routine and dancing in a sunlit room. Now I share it with you.

Schrödinger's Love (and War)

On an evening here in Sydney (that was honestly not nearly as nice as this cover would suggest) I recorded my first "Isolated Sunset" in over 2 years. What has come to be called "Organic House" at its worst can be beautiful but entirely forgettable, but at its best it can be powerfully evocative - using live instrumentation to create incredible sound scapes that communicate passion like no other sub-genre of House Music. I hope you enjoy the journey!

Get your favorite headphones and treat yourself to a mini Zendo Stereo / Music Meditation at home!
I can't bring the sub-bass or the live mixing, but you can do a 1-hour journey on your own, here is how:
Find a comfortable place to lie down, use your favorite sleep mask, dim the lights/add some candles.

Set an intention for the journey.
“Let Go of Something” and “Call Something In”, keep it simple.

Take slow deep breaths, and make your exhales longer than you inhale. Repeat thru the practice.

The meditation is to notice the music and your feelings for the next hour, there is no wrong way of doing it. Just call out what you are hearing as it appears, "That piano is interesting", "I love the way that bass feels", etc.
When thoughts come just acknowledge them and just come back to the music. When the music brings up feelings, just ride them, the music moves through it and you move through it with it. It gets easier as you get deeper into the mix.

You will alter your brain from a Beta state to an Alpha state by just listening. And hopefully touch some deep Theta brainwaves of deep rest, meditation, insight, and peace.

PS, this works even better if you're slightly altered, microdose+ your favorite enhancer and you're set!
