DJ Face Design is the progressive psytrance project of Patrick Rubitschun, originally from the majestic Swiss Alps. Patrick began his DJ career in 2002, quickly rising to prominence thanks to his impeccable technique and expertly curated track selection. His skills caught the attention of German label Prog On Syndicate Records in 2012, securing him a spot on their roster. In 2018, he joined the prestigious Tesseract Studio label as a DJ.  In August 2024, Patrick became a member of Inner Sphere, the progressive psytrance project led by Hamid Panahi, and the only European DJ representing Techsafari Records. The idea behind this DJ mix is a release from Techsafari Records dating from last year, along with other great tracks from 2024 and some exclusive tracks from us to represent Inner Sphere!

We present a hybrid set from SOLAR KID in this Kafka Tempo episode. Blending selections from Kafka Tempo and Zenon Records with her latest release alongside AKA NINA, the journey closes with a taste of her unreleased creations. Raised between Serbia, the UK, and Sweden in a family of musicians, Solar Kid grew up immersed in sounds from around the globe. With roots in harp and vocals from an early age, she carries a wide palette of influences into her current projects. Since founding her downtempo project Solar Kid in 2008, now blossoming into releases on Zenon and Kafka Tempo, she has also lent her voice to collaborations with Younger Brother (Simon Posford & Benji Vaughan), Zyce, Liquid Soul, Tribone, and many more.  Her mixes embrace both the dark and the playful, moving fluidly between psytech, acidprog, and deeper shades of experimental sound. This episode reflects that eclectic spirit, a journey that is as atmospheric as it is driving.

Welcome to Hold All The Way an epic sonic odyssey forged by Koshiro and Haber, where primal rhythm meets transcendent sound. This is the tale of an ancient warrior traversing the lands. A journey through spirit, struggle, and triumph told in waves of dark psychedelic bush prog, acid alchemy, and cinematic storytelling.

The quest begins with “A Warrior’s Way,” an 11-minute masterpiece featuring samples from Naruto. A cinematic storm of rhythm and melody, it unfolds like an anime saga come to life. Heroic, emotional, and deeply immersive; this is the warrior’s call to rise.

Next, “Claps Are All Off” ignites a 9-minute raver’s pilgrimage through modular chaos, off-kilter percussion, and bush-prog pulse. It’s the sound of battle sweat, motion, and trance-fueled defiance under the open sky.

Finally, “Hold Up” closes the chapter with an experimental 145 BPM triped out vocals from Haber and Koshiro themselves. It’s cheeky, unpredictable, and powerful, a wink from the heroes who’ve walked the path and lived to tell the tale.

This is not just an EP it’s a story of resilience, rhythm, and rebirth.

Gray Matter - Prepare yourself

The moment I heard I would be playing the main stage on the closing day of Ozora, I knew I had to make it a truly special set. I felt so honored and happy to get that afternoon slot. This was about 3-4 months before the festival. I got straight into the studio and started producing music especially for this gig. My main thought was: these people have been dancing for a week, listening to every kind of psychedelic trance. How can I make this special for them?

I imagined myself in the crowd, thinking about what I would want to hear and blast off to. The result was a journey into a more melodic and open sound. I ended up producing 9 brand new, exclusive tracks just for this set, which I combined with music from my recent album, "I Choose To See Light."

The set itself was amazing and unfolded exactly as I had imagined. Almost everyone had a big smile on their face; you could feel the love and unity in the air. I’m so thankful for that moment and incredibly excited to finally share this full set with all of you.
