A unique groove that amazes and transports you on a psychedelic voyage. That is the trademark of Swann Decamme and the reason for the increasing success of this dedicated laborer of electronic music. Swann, the founder of Paris-based label Curiosity Music, is a DJ and producer who distinguishes himself by his open-minded style navigating minimal, deep and tech house, with a predilection for hypnotic loops and sound waves. He combines groovy rhythms and synthetic melodies to create incisive tracks, penetrating the brain like powerful psychotropic agents. His high-quality productions have attracted the attention of tech legends such as Richie Hawtin, as well as new talents of deep house and a young crowd. Swann has four releases scheduled for 2020 on acclaimed labels, Dawn Till Dusk (Melbourne), Earthly Delights (New York), Magician On Duty (Miami) and Time Has Changed (Paris).

A true globe-trotter, Swann Decamme has appeared regularly in clubs in Europe, the United States and Latin America. His most recent performances include the SXM Festival in St Martin, and clubs in Colombia, Dominican Republic, London, Barcelona and Paris. Swann is the co-founder and artistic director of Caribbean-based L’Amour à la Plage festival, started in 2019. He’s organized all previous series of this crowd-pleasing event, which combines music, artistic expression and good food in breathtaking surroundings.

We are thrilled to have the talented Sarkis Mikael on for our 15th episode. 

A citizen of the world living in Los Angeles, Sarkis Mikael is a DJ and producer creating eclectic electronic music.  
He is influenced by rock, electronic, and world music differentiating between melodic, psychedelic and tribal textures.  
Combining a variety of genres, Sarkis fuses historical instruments such as the Duduk and Oud with electronic grooves, while expanding his experimental levels to intricate degrees. 
Sarkis is building an applaudable roster of artists he has played with like Acid Pauli, Monolink, Sabo, Sandrino, Goldcap, Gab Rhome, Hisham Zahran and more. His first ever label release with Patrik Khach on Pipe & Pochet traveled through multiple airwaves in live and studio sets played by acclaimed DJs. His long awaited EP released on Dream Culture in June 2017 with remixes by San Miguel, Saand, and DÜK.  
The Dreamer  EP climbed the Beatport charts quickly and ranked #13 in the Top 100 Electronica Releases and #15 in the Top 100 Deep House Releases. 
Focusing on innovative studio productions and through the unison of likeminded artists, labels, and music lovers from all over the world, Sarkis is growing a house hold name for himself. His productions are gaining recognition by Just Emma, San Miguel, SAAND and Milo Häfliger to name a few. Currently, he is set to release on multiple worldwide known record labels.  
Sarkis has no means to stop, as his adventure has just begun. Just like history, he’s already said so much with an entire musical lifetime ahead to tell his stories.

A child of the world, Born in France and currently based in Amsterdam, Maga spent most of his life travelling between cultures. He brings his influence from his time he spent immersed in various cities from Cape Town, Miami and Dubai. 

His genre of music is mostly nourished by the exploration of ethnic & organic sounds.  

Maga has now been producing for few years and has released tracks on Akumandra, Voyeur Music, Sol Selectas and most recently on Leveldva.

Matt & Mervyn a.k.a. Missfeat (M&me) share a liking for electronic music since they were teenagers in the early 90's, one of them (Matt) under the funk hip hop influence and the other one (Mervyn) being rather pop electro. Their common taste for house and techno lead them to the creation of the Missfeat group !

After a very notable start in the South-West area of France they play alongside with renowned artists such as Jack de Marseille, Neil Landstrumm, Torgull, Ryckk's, Paco Osuna, Stephanovitch...

In 2003, together with their friends Louis de Bourbon and Zentrax, they create the Electronikcircus collective and the Audiomatik evenings at which they share the stage with Sascha Funke, Robert Babicz, Chloé, Bloody Mary...

Then they participate in several PCB evenings including Izhevski, Argenis Brito, Marc Antona, Re-Up, Francesco Allende, Marcelo Rosselot, Vera, Cezar, Maayan Nidam, ... and is the first part of Miguel Campbell.

Rashid Ajami's favorite sip is a glass of Sake. Although there are plenty of various styles, the Japanese national drink made from rice is usually rich in texture and has a unique subtlety of flavour. And we completely see similarities to Rashid's beautiful music. 

Since his emergence in 2012 was instantly spotted by the likes of Maya Jane Coles and Ramon Tapia whose remixes featured on his first release, Rashid has steadily released critically acclaimed tracks on labels such as AnjunaDeep, Eklektish, Einmusika and Noir. He and Julia Govor released ‘A Regret’, a much admired four tracker, while 2017 saw his collab with Nathan Daisy, ‘Dance Pain’, on Noir’s Dark Stars 003 Compilation and singled out by Pete Tong for BBC Radio 1. DJ gigs included Mysteryland festival, New York’s Marquee et al.

Last year he added Get Physical, Tube & Berger’s ZEHN, Tale & Tone, and Blufin to his imprint portfolio, putting a renewed wholehearted focus on music after the multitalented producer, unusually, took a brief break from the DJ booth to build a successful tech business.

Now having achieved material success and a solid back catalogue of releases, Rashid is passionate about producing music for its quality and ability to inspire dreams and emotion. ‘If I can achieve that goal with even one listener, I’m happy. I want to be true and honest with what I make.’ As a DJ, he loves to play long sets, around 6 hours, to craft the best and most emotionally resonant journeys for the crowd, while at the same time choosing records for their dance vibe – if a track makes him feel like dancing, it’ll get the crowd moving too. Reluctant to be pinned down to a genre, style or niche, he allows his music to evolve naturally.

Appropriately therefore, though obsessed with music since childhood- playing piano and violin since he was 8 – he loved all genres and rejects the idea of any specific influences. ‘I used to freestyle, breakdance and bought my first techno album at 12! I still freestyle for my friends over a hip hop instrumental when we are chilling.’ At university in the US, he began making his own music through such simple beginnings as Garageband and Logic, finding that his natural talent and feel for a vibe resulted in tracks which made a lasting impact. 
 Now in talks with big name galleries, Rashid plans a suite of original digital artworks with music: some big scale multimedia immersive installations involving other artists are also in progress. There will also be an intriguing series of limited vinyl releases as artwork. 

With an increasingly exciting year ahead full of new releases and new terrain to explore as DJ, producer and artist, 2021 marks a musical renaissance for Rashid Ajami. And we're proud of being a part of it!
