Having learned some lessons, and having made more mistakes, I thought I'd revisit this unofficial cover of this classic Future Sound Of London track, and give it a tweak in the mix.

Papua New Guinea

A track that, I hope, will feature either on an EP or album going forward. I started writing this a couple of years ago with the intention of it being part of an EP inspired by a trip to Scotland, but I just couldn't get some of the other tracks right to complete it. We'll see what the future brings.

Well, this one certainly turned out very different from what was intended. I had been planning something a little more on the chilled side, but when that didn't quite work how I wanted it to I decided to rearrange the track. This is where that decision led me to.

Quite pleased, to be honest :) Not sure what it is though?

A little something I'd been working on a few months back. I wasn't overly pleased with the mix so I thought I'd come back and have a look at it. 

Quite happy now and hope that it will be released on Visionary Shamanics in the near future, if they like it, of course.

Land Of Eternal Dawn

This track was inspired by a trip to Scotland a few years ago. We stayed on a working farm, in a cottage, and this musically reminds me of sipping my coffee outside pondering the day; the sound of the animals, the insects buzzing about going about their day, and the warmth of the morning sun.

Who Are You People!

Last year I was given the opportunity to remix some tracks for Psybur's remixed album. As you may know I had one feature on the album, which I was very pleased with, and I think a couple will feature on Various Artists releases on Visionary Shamanics.

This one won't be released as far as I'm aware, and that's fine, it's not overly different from the original but I have had a lot of fun with the production side and thought you may like to listen anyway.

Psybur - The Fungal Jungle (Zenlike Creature's Goombas Remix)

This track almost made it onto my first album but ultimately got cut. I've been revisiting some of these tracks recently and this is one that I'm reasonably pleased with now. In fact, it may feature on an album going forward.

Never Sleep

A cheeky Zenlike cover of the classic 'Universal Nation'by Push. I can't emphasise enough how much I loved the original when it came out and I still remember picking it up on promo in 98. The following year came the Ferry Corsten remix which again, for me, was fabulous. 

Anyway, I've always wanted to do my own version and here it is. It's a little more on the chilled trance side of things, but I hope you enjoy it :)

Universal Nation

Another cheeky Zenlike cover. I've always loved Lustral's 'Everytime', both the original and the Nalin & Kane remix, and fancied having a bash at doing a version of my own.

I'm reasonably happy, but feel it could've been better. Still, it was fun and I may revisit in the future.

A new original which will feature on a currently untitled album. I class this as a demo as I hope to get a couple of musician friends to record/re-record some elements.

A Place In Time

Visionary Shamanics is happy to present the 2nd Goaesque Downtempo LP from UK artist - ZENLIKE CREATURE.

Deep in the forest the Zenlike Creature embarks on an artistic evocation for psychedelic visions, finding a recipe for a potion to stimulate the visionary experience. A feeling of being reborn!

Closing his eyes the Zenlike Creature immerses himself in a boiling vat of brilliant dyes, bubbling furiously up like hallucinations of mathematical biology. Stimulated neurons in the visual cortex, dedicated to detecting edges of objects, generate spirals and lattices, tunnels and checkerboards. All of them swirling and connecting.

Zenlike Creature was initially set up as a side-project, born out of a love of the psychedelic music scene.

It could be said that this project is almost 30 years in the making since that wonderful summer of 93 and that first listen of the Ozric Tentacles 'Live Underslunky' album - it certainly opened more than just eyes! 

Since then it's been a continual music adventure hunting down bands and artists of similar style and genre. Whilst not always fruitful, there is a selection of bands/artists who have helped shape and influence Zenlike Creature and this work would not have happened without them: Ozric Tentacles, Gong, Shpongle, Steve Hillage, Eat Static, Hallucinogen, Pink Floyd, and Hawkwind. 

The bands/artists above have taken us on some fantastic musical journeys and adventures and Zenlike Creature hopes to take you on some similar journeys too.
