In this world, some things are simply meant to be. One such thing is the wonderful symbiosis that is ACID FLORA and music.  From a simple 90’s tape deck all the way through to today’s vast and enchanting acoustic landscape, the young Swiss talent has devoted herself to finding and sculpting a signature sound that speaks to hearts and hips alike. 

With a raunchy touch of nonchalance she weaves heartfelt emotions with unapologetic ecstasy, oscillating between self-awareness and daring provocation. Driven by honesty and expression through music, ACID FLORA creates miraculous spaces in which the exploration of the self is not only allowed, but encouraged. With implicit authenticity, she invites people to let go of all conventions and immerse themselves in music. She does this by opening up herself to the people in the crowd and connecting with them in an intimate dialogue that inspires and fuels her musical selection.

Following her first booking back in 2015, ACID FLORA has been a staple at Berlin’s magnificent Kater Blau with appearances at prestigious events like the Bar 25 weekender and Kater-resident Mira’s Birthday in November ‘22. On top she's played two Stil vor Talent showcases, and secured a residency at Zurich’s world-renowned Hive Club, delivering her distinctive vibes to some of the most distinguished dancefloors in Europe. 2023 is shaping up to be another amazing year for ACID FLORA, with several confirmed international festival appearances, as well as her very first release, set to come out on Oliver Koletzki's A Tribe Called Kotori Label.

Clearly, this woman is on a ride that is bound to get a whole lot wilder in the not so distant future.

“ọba” means “king” in Yoruba, Idris’s mother’s first language, and “flip” references the flip phone Stella still carried when they met—as well as the duo’s desire to “flip things up.” They bring their disparate lived experiences together to create hard-driving eclectic sets punctuated by space and groove. Unafraid to mix genres within the electronic sphere, their sound is refreshing, with every set being wide-ranging while also matching the energy of the room. 

As resident DJs for NYC’s Zero and Armen Miran’s Reborn Project, they have played in venues such as House of Yes (Brooklyn), Knockdown Center (Queens), Cielos (California), and two of Berlin’s finest clubs—Kater Blau and Sisyphos.

This event last year was my first time playing a ZERO party in NYC. So its a special one to me and why I made a new mix for it (and hence the interesting intro in the set which reminds me of my first venture to a warehouse party in Brooklyn :) I also remember this event being one of my favorite gigs last year; the vibe, production and enthusiasm of the event, crowd, and the ZERO family, was next level all around (which is more rare to find these days for a 3k+ person event).
