Here's the remixed version of nepali traditional song "Sarangi".

Since the release of Rajasthan in Dub back in 2016 I dream to record music from different cultures around the world. 

Last year this dream became reality.

"Gig Sessions/Baithak in the farm" (Oct 17-21, 2022) was the second edition of Kamakhya Records private, by donation only, and not-for-profit music and art retreat.
Artists on invitation travel to Assam in Northeast India, stay together, share knowledge and tips, collaborate, and make free-flowing music and art together on the fly, where the NOW is the inspiration. 
I had the honor to be invited and record nepali folk music with to Gandharva brothers.


Sharan Gandharva and Ramesh Gandharva from Kachankawal in the Jhapa district of Nepal travel miles on foot, taking public transport only to commute to the tourists' beloved Darjeeling town. Otherwise farmers from the fertile plains of Nepal, these talented folk musicians perform well-loved Nepali songs with their treasured companion, the beautiful Nepali Sarangi. Made of sturdy jackfruit wood, and polished with silk-smooth pine resin, this instrument bears the symbols and impressions of ancient string instruments that evolved over thousands of years across the Silk Route. Once the symbol of their idiosyncratic cultural and musical traditions, this music is now endangered and lost in the world of modern Nepali music. With stories involving simple village life, silk trades, and innocent love, their music takes one on a soulful journey. Breaking away from the regular, they come with music taught to them by their forefathers. Never burdened with existential struggle, they worship music as a way of life.

Hoova returns on Altar Records with a new EP named Deriwoo, where he explores new realms in ambient, downtempo, and progressive elements of music. From the eclectic landscapes of Mexico, Hoova brings his rich culture to the table with an expansive sonic palette that will definitely blow your mind.

The EP features three carefully tailored tracks offered in three different versions each and shows exactly how one can do so effectively and with a very high level of competency as a producer. Ambient mixes are designed to engage the listener into the tranquil and ethereal world in which time seems to have been slowed just a notch to savor the magnificence and detail of sound and feeling. These are great for easing into reflection or meditation, providing a tranquil refuge from the bustle of life.

In contrast, downtempo mixes keep in pace with a gentle rhythmic pulse, almost as if standing there with an inviting hand outstretched to the listener, asking them to move with him in a dance of introspection. Warm and inviting, the beats are layered with a rich tapestry of textures and melodies, each reaching out to the soul of the listener. It's in these iterations that Hoova's songwriting really pops, every note and beat threading into a story singular and universal.

The progressive mixes finish this elevation of energy by pulling the listeners into a vibrancy of sound that is both uplifting and grounding. The progressive versions witness Hoova's ability to build upon the progressive versions of testimony, wherein every track now moves through its own evolution and unfolds organically and thrillingly. You easily get lost in the mixes flowing with dynamic rhythms, apparently fusing all elements of electronics and organics into the melting pot.

"Deriwoo" is not just an EP; it's a journey through the vast landscapes of sound and emotion. Hoova gave a crossover experiment of the genre with his release and a piece of his special view of this world. Its warm texturality and a deep groove—emotive melodic melodies—it is exactly this EP proves the music to be power, connectedness, and healing. Whether you have been fond of such genres as ambient, downtempo, and progressive music, or not, probably this is a high time to listen to new musical horizons, and "Deriwoo" is something obligatory to be listened to.

Marcin Pawłowski a.k.a. Netsu is a musician from the ancient Polish city of Wrocław. He produces atmospheric electronic music in the genres of psychill, psydub, progressive. Live & Remixed is a compilation album comprising recordings of Netsu's live performances and remixes of his tracks by Panda On The Bamboo Tree and Mental Traveler projects.

Being a real fan of hardware synthesizers, Marcin constantly strives to improve his performances, experimenting with new gear and compositions, mixing analogue and digital synthesis techniques.
