Hey,
my name is Nic, I was born 1988 in Berlin and live here to this date.
As long as I remember I listened to music, nonstop. In my childhood the radio was always on and my finger rested on the record button until the one song played, that I wanted to have in my collection. Later, I recorded maxi cd’s on repeat to a cassette, the whole 45min of one side of the tape. The first cd-burner my father had, changed my live and I made my first compilations. Electronic music came early in my life and stayed there for most of the time. I live in the heart of Berlin-Charlottenburg and because of that, the loveparade was just around the corner. Me, as a 9-year-old boy, celebrating the music and people on the loveparade in the late 90’s was awesome and very defining for my music taste. Incredible summers in Berlin, armed with water guns, me and my friend refreshed the raver girls. As a teenager I had an extensive hip-hop and rap phase, but I luckily came back to techno. In my early 20’s I nearly lived in the clubs. My favourite one was the Tresor at that time. On my 21st birthday a friend of mine brought two turntables and a lot of hardstyle records. That was my first contact with DJing. Shortly after I downloaded Traktor and tried mixing digitally. Sadly, I forgot about that more or less. Until now. I finally started and I am practicing a lot and having a lot more fun. It is freaking awesome. After starting on a Traktor Kontrol S2 and Traktor Pro 3, i switched to Pioneer XDJs 1000MK2 and a DJM-750MK2. My love for music and knowledge about all the awesome tracks finally comes to practical use, other than just listening to music. Today I listen to every genre and artist I like. But most of the time it is just techno and electronic music in general.
