Mark Stewart, who goes by the artist name AETHA, has a style of music that would mostly fall under the progressive house genre with a dark and melodic edge. 

“I aim to make music that moves and connects with people, both physically and emotionally.”

MUSICAL INFLUENCES

Mark has many influences and says he loves anything that the likes of Anjuna, Zero 3, Colourize, Joof, Area Verde, UV, Afterlife and the like release.  

Some of the many artists that have inspired the AETHA sound include Eric Prydz, Grum, Lane 8,  Luttrell, Yotto, Matt Fax, Jerome Isma-Ae, Stan Kolev, Christoph, ARTBAT, Jeremy Olander, Ben Bohmer & Tinlicker to name a few off the top of his head. 

Deeper musical influences are wide and varied including pop music, electro house, experimental electronic music, drum and bass, rock and more. 

RELEASES

After a handful of releases, Mark needed to make space for other commitments over the 2021-2022 period. 

Looking forward to 2023, Mark is committed to ensuring that AETHA will become a household name to those that are fans of progressive house and the aforementioned artists! 

MUSICAL JOURNEY

While always having a very strong interest in music, It wasn’t until 2006, the start of what would be four years spent living in London, UK, that Mark developed a real passion for electronic music. Many nights spent out at clubs and especially at the big multi day festivals around Europe laid the foundation for his music production today. At the time he was working as a web developer which meant that he could spend the majority of every working day with headphones on, fine tuning his electronic music tastes.

“Near the end of my time in London, I finally was able to afford a decent computer and bought my first Mac. I remember very well installing my music production software for the first time and starting to play around. While I had no idea what I was doing, it was magical to me to be able to express my musical creativity and compose a full track with nothing but a computer. I was hooked and my journey began.” 

It took Mark many years of on again, off again periods of making music in amongst life’s other commitments including marriage and starting a family to start to take music production as a more serious side project, learn all the skills needed to consistently finish quality tracks and get them signed.

“One of the things I love about music production is the fact that there is always something else to learn, something to improve upon for next time. I love learning new things and working out how to become more efficient while also allowing myself to get into flow with the creative process. Making music deeply satisfies me on many levels.”
