Who better to ask than Brazilian digger and electro disk spinner Broerin. After numerous years curating his sound in his home country of Brazil, he now joins us on UK soil bringing his collection of all things dark and breaky with him.

Desde que se envolveu na cena, Darlan se apaixonou pelo movimento e pelas pistas. 

Em busca do aqui e agora, vem crescendo sua coleção de vinyl e se desprendendo a estilos onde está cada dia mais intimo com seu próprio som, buscando timbres que fazem referência a diferentes momentos da música eletrônica dos anos 80 até a atualidade. 

Com a intenção de movimentar o cenário local, fundou a ZERO UM em 2019. Núcleo ativo e independente que produz eventos e materiais online de seus residentes e convidados.

Since getting involved in the music scene, Darlan has fallen in love with the culture and the dance floors.

In search of the here and now, his vinyl collection has been growing and detaching itself from styles where it is increasingly intimate with his own music, looking for timbres that refer to different moments of electronic music from the 80's to the present day.

With the intention of shake the local music scene, he founded ZERO UM in 2019. Active and independent collective which produces events and online materials for its residents and guests.

"Most of Fitz's fans know her for a deep and cosmic sound defined by excellent track selections, but her style is always changing. Since she was a teenager, she's loved and played everything from soul to trip-hop to techno to ambient, and she thinks of her sound today as a culmination of her many influences over the years. It's also the result of the personal experiences she's had, from Body & Soul parties in New York to psytrance raves in Jakarta to festivals like rural in Japan and Freerotation in Wales, both of which are proud to have her as a regular"

She wrote for use some words about this mix:

"Every track on this mix was made in Italy during the early to mid 90s, mostly, but not exclusively, from the north. A lot of it is from Toscana, home of Tropical Animals. It’s my tribute to a specific fluid and entrancing music that has shaped my sound as a DJ for the past eight years or so. Not as well known Italo, Cosmic, minimalism, deep house,  or even Italy’s psychedelic rock, but it’s a sound that brings in elements all of these. But this sound is something different  - dynamic, imaginative and full of drama. It’s hard to mix, because most of the records have long, twisting intros and the tracks don’t stop changing and evolving until the very last bars. It doesn’t play by the rules. Progressive, yes. Trance, techno, house? Maybe a little bit of all. To me, it’s simply the unmistakeable sound of Italy, the sound I love"

Martin is part of this digger generation a little ahead of his time, who always seeks further in sounds that we have lost the habit of listening.  

This podcast brings together some of the music that Martin has been focusing on for the last few years: especially the period between the end of disco and the beginning of electronic music, let's say between 1977 and 1985, when post punk, disco, R&B and funk fused to give us funky rhythms bathed in an avant-garde vibe. It was the first big era of synthesizers and other electronic gear, but they were still played and not yet programmed, to bring us the best of two worlds: futuristic sounds and human musicality.
