I wanted to cover this older song from my partner @swintonmusic, and I wanted to do so in a way that'd shut up the endless comments across here and yt that go along the lines of "the snes could never do metal as hard as the megadrive/genesis". so I did. :D

This track plays during the climax of the film, where the main character, Cody Landeira, is playing a fast-paced, classic shooter-style arcade game in the laundromat.

(they also did the track art, of course!)

I wrote this about a year ago and unfortunately, no longer have some of the plugins/subscriptions needed to open the project file. I would have liked to do an updated mix, but cannot without re-doing many parts of the song from the ground up. I figured I'd rather share it as-is than not at all!

This track took way too long to complete. Welcome to another entry of my ever WIP concept album "Campfire Story". I did put a lot of heart, soul and effort into it and did the best I could do. I hope you enjoy it. I intended to release a video alongside but that turned out to be way too much of a task for me and my old PC to handle to edit at the moment, so unfortunately this will have to wait a while. It WILL get released eventually.

CONFRONTATION is about confronting your past. More specifically confronting these memories of yours you wish you wouldn't have because you don't want them to be true. You hope by forgetting or denying them, the deeds will become undone but eventually they catch up on you. Ignoring them will get you nowhere, eventually you must face them. This is never an easy, quick or painless act, but necessary to finally get closure. Maybe even, apart from the feelings of anger, guilt, pain and shame, you will experience almost uncanny emotions of a bittersweet melancholy.

In Campfire Story, the narrator needs to face the one memory he as tried to keep out of his head - the last memory which he has of his alive sister which is also the day she died. One day, during his early childhood, he didn't feel like listening to his parents and went to the water his older sister watching out for him. He did what he was told not to do. He was lucky to stay alive. His sister, however, drowned. This day on he blamed solely himself for her death, living with the guilt and trying to modify or erase the ever more fainting memory out of his head.

Instruments I recorded on this track are: harp, piano (MIDI), e-piano (MIDI), synthesizers (virtual as well as outboard gear, especially the VZ-10M) and vocals and screams. 
Cello and drums are both MIDI too, I'm sorry, next time I'll have them be recorded by real instruments, I promise. 💜

Had a psychedelic progressive concept album called Campfire Story in the works but that's on ice now. Today I'm posting fun, weird and very mediocre music in irregular updates!
