This track had been sitting in recording machine for 18 months. It needed a finish, a eureka moment. So verily, one late September morn, I shaped G barre chord an octave higher and bingo that moment had arrived.
This song itself is a true story that has been experienced, not just in the town where I grew up, but throughout the world.  The lyrics explain.

There's no laughter in the streets no more, the children have nowhere to play. Street upon street of emptiness. The spirit of this town is starting to decay
Where once stood the corner shop, peeling posters now fill its windows. Consumer city has moved out of town. A sad testament to the town that lost its soul. The town that lost its soul.
A minute of silence please, to the town that lost its soul. This once breathing metropolis is laying in state , a tragic end, its heart beats no more. There's no mourning or obituary, of that I'm sure. 
So let's raise a glass to the movers and shakers the big money makers. Who played with our lives like monopoly, world domination. Our fate sealed with a throw of a dice. Who destroyed the lives of the average Joe, because we are all easy come, easy go. Just so long as we make a bit of dough. So how many Mercs is it going to be, 1,2,3? I'll finish E-Ruizzo project with a conceptual LP album: 4 songs about 'Arctica Point'. I imagined it amid rotation axis, geographic north and magnetic pole, and I located it on dry land !! Then I draw the cover art.

This opening track tells the decision of leaving this annoying present by travelling to that magical place. The following ones tell the trip and life there.

Translated lyrics will explain it with more detail:

About the project: 
Since I am traveling a lot and I make music all the time anyway, I had the following idea: Soak up the vibe of the place I am in right now. Infuse these vibes into a song that also includes original sounds I recorded at the place. Film what I see and experience and edit a video to the song so that you can be there with me. And include a little tutorial for beginners to show you how I work. Combining all that, I created the series "Traveling Musician". 

The first episode is about Tokyo. I strongly felt a juxtaposition of formality in public life and work and a wonderful and crazy nightlife with lots of laughter and openness. I also thought about David Bowie's albums in the late 70ies ("I'm under Japanese influence" - Blackout), especially the "Heroes" album, and how they used drum snippets and fills on that album. My drum programming is a little tribute to that.
