2013 has been a huge year for Satin Jackets, one of Germany’s most notable indie dance protagonists.

Satin Jackets and Sydney based singer KLP have joined forces on this one. They met in Berlin and performed together at Oval Space in London, this first collaboration was their logical next step. ‘For Days’ has that lush production that has characterized Satin Jackets for quite some time now. Exquisite harmonies combined with the dreamy vocals from KLP define this cutting edge indie dance gem that has masterful melodies and stripped-back ambience throughout. The release is topped off by the laid back slo-mo vintage burner ‘Night Keys’ to put you into that late-night cruising mood.

Following the very well-received ‘You Make Me Feel Good’ and ‘Olivia’ (taken from The Pink Collection), ‘For Days’ marks the third Satin Jackets release on Eskimo this year.

With a career spanning over fifteen years and residencies across the UK, London-based DJ Able not only runs a weekly radio show Gimmie Groove on Rinse FM, but also produces some incredible house tunes. Having just released the chart-climbing ‘Ain’t Got Time’ this January on Tony Records, DJ Able is back with his debut release on Soul Heaven titled ‘Whatcha Gonna Do’. Taking centre stage is without a doubt Donald Sheffey’s rich, baritone vocal prowess. His tone is instantly uplifting and, together with DJ Able’s deep basslines and cosmic synth effects, they represent the essence of Soulful House and the genre’s timeless appeal. The single also includes a Dub version of the title track, delivering a jumpy interpretation of the original.

I discovered Frankie Knuckles through his music, one that was, gentle, lush with a subdued, understated power that rocked many a dancefloor.
I had the privilege to hear him once in the heyday of his legendary residency at Sound Factory Bar in New York. I was submerged, sonically and emotionally by the beauty of the music I heard that night. I remember very clearly saying to myself that this would be impossible to ever equal.
That was 20 years ago, and I never got to hear this magic combination again.

I got to meet Frankie a few times, and he was always like his music, gentle, humble,   yet naturally imposing

I've put together here some of my favorite music from him. So that his legacy can keep on inspiring other people.

Rest in peace, Frankie, may your music keep on moving people eternally

This latest installment in the popular Editors Kutz re-edit series is packing some real heat, which is arguably unsurprising given the talent involved. Whiskey Disco don Sleazy McQueen steals the show with opener "Let's Make Love Tonight", a perfectly pitched chunk of sensual, horn-toting disco that should ignite dancefloors the world over this summer. 78 Edits take on "Love Massage" - a sexy head-nodder in his loopy, toe-tapping style - is almost as good, while Vinyl Addicted & Jean-Paul Gavri's sweet, delay-laden, dub disco tweak of "Can't Play Around" (here re-titled "Let's Play Around") is similarly impressive. As if that wasn't enough to impress, there's also some top drawer shuffling Balearic disco from Lillo Carillo's (the sultry "Le Viole").

If you're not familiar with Jersey Club music then it's about time you got to know. Brimming with energy, it's the genre that moves at near-on 100mph and lashes out a some ridiculously heavy drum kicks. 

One producer repping the scene is R3ll, a guy whose tough reworks of the likes of Drake, Jhene Aiko and Ciara caught the attention of LuckyMe who asked him to guest mix on their Rinse FM show and turn in a remix of Cashmere Cat's Rice Rain.
