This album is a collection of sonnets that accompany Knight & Wolf music album.

The sonnets were created by the project’s artist Alexander Denisov and interpreted into English by Artem Vanteev. English sonnets were voiced by Kate Vekova. The album's music has been specially interpreted for this edition.

The protagonist of the album's poetry is a lonely bannerless knight who has lost his destiny. The story of the wanderings of the protagonist is presented in sonnets that accompany the illustrations and music.

The sonnets are represented in the form of a wreath with fourteen lines, where the last line of each is the beginning of the next sonnet. The fifteenth sonnet consists of two first lines of the previous fourteen sonnets and is a sort of a main idea and an emotional conclusion of the storyline.

Misplaced Ideal (2023) is a music album that exists at the intersection of modern classical, romance and folk song. This album was created by artist and poet Alexander Denisov and musician Yuliya Khilova during the last year of Alexander's life.

The music album was created within the walls of NⅡ studio. We would like to thank Anton Sokolov for all the work on sound creation. Without Anton's efforts we would not have been able to put together all the vocal parts that Alexander left us.

The music album is a part of the Knight and Wolf project's collection of works, as it was created together with the illustrations and lyrics of the project. The story that the lyrics of the album tell is not a direct continuation of the story about the Knight but is its logical conclusion and afterword.

The romances created by Alexander and Yuliya are aesthetically different from the music of the Knight and Wolf project. Each song is an independent work and message, but at the same time, paying tribute to the vision of the project, these songs are united by a single idea.

Alexander's poetry places the listener in a lyrical space where the author summarizes his life. He talks to God. Their conversation is filled with heavy reflections, sadness and nostalgia. The listener here is a witness to the author's confession to eternity, a witness to the words of a man who realizes that soon he will have to leave the house of men.

Неуместный Идеал (2023) — музыкальным альбом, существующий на стыке современной классики, романса и традиционной песни. Данный альбом был создан художником и поэтом Александром Денисовым и музыкантом Юлией Хиловой в последний год жизни Александра.

Музыкальный альбом создан в стенах студии звукозаписи NⅡ studio. За всю работу со звуком мы благодарим Антона Соколова. Без труда Антона нам бы не удалось свести все вокальные партии, которые оставил нам Александр.

Музыкальный альбом входит в коллекцию сочинений проекта Рыцарь и Волк, поскольку он создавался одновременно с живописью и поэзией проекта. История, которую повествует поэзия альбома, не является прямым продолжением истории о Рыцаре, но является его логичным завершением и послесловием.

Романсы, созданные Александром и Юлией, эстетически отличаются от музыки проекта Рыцарь и Волк. Каждая песня представляет собой самостоятельное произведение и послание, но в тоже время, отдавая дань уважения концепции проекта, они объединены единой идеей.

Поэзия Александра помещает слушателя в лирическое пространство, где автор подводит итоги своей жизни. Он разговаривает с Богом. Их беседа наполнена трудными размышлениями, печалью и ностальгией. Слушатель здесь — свидетель исповеди автора перед вечностью, свидетель слов человека, который осознает, что вскоре ему придется покинуть жилье человека.

And mirror of evil reflects in the lake of ash,
Scattering mist amidst relicts roots and buds,
That gulp down life with clots of blood,
Blood of knights, that for immortality clash;

Swings of steel are crushing bones and armor,
Playing hymn of swords clanking and dying clamor
Whirling and whirling around and filling the space
Only to fade away in the morning embrace … 

Sacred sword – is but a blind fortune’s test, 
He chose the one who bled, but survived the fight,
Who stood his own, kept the vow that night:
Wolf’s life weighs more than that of the rest…

His skin is not a part of the heated race
And day dissolves like hope in light’s embrace.

4 — Озеро Праха

И зеркалом зла отражается озеро праха,
Разверзнув туманы среди корневищ реликтов,
Что пьют воду жизни со сгустками мертвой крови
Пришедших на отмель сразиться за право быть вечным;
 
И вот уже сталь рубит латы и кости с размаха,
И лязг ее гимном сливаясь с предсмертным рыком
Несется окрест, и собою пространство заполнив,
Растает под сводами грота  утром беспечным...
 
Заветный клинок — это выбор слепой удачи,
Он выпал тому, кто изранен, но выжил в той ночи,
Тому, кто, оставшись собой, не нарушил обета
 
В азарте погони за шкурою волка, а значит,
Что жизнь его все же важнее судьбы всех прочих...
И день растворится надеждой в объятии света.

But covered with cloak of disbelief is the land of mist,
Where torches barely light woods and plains,
People ramble, craving for battle like beasts
They are robed in pelts of wolves slain,
Their heads are in hoods of wolf’s grin –
Blind men’s guide, secret’s crafty priest,
Lured his victims with stories of thick mists,
Concealing the sword with knowledge within

Only he, who bested in strength and agility,
Who despised his fears and the dreads of hell,
Shall conquer the castle of glory, which death befell, 
Uncrowning the master of the garden of moon.

Their stepmother is life, death – midwife and matchmaker, 
And mirror of evil reflects in the lake of ash.

Но скрыта земля туманов тогой безверия,
Где факел едва освещает леса и равнины —
Здесь люди блуждают и в поиске битвы звереют,
И шкурою волчьей укрыты их плечи и спины,
Их головы венчаны мертвенным волчьим оскалом —
Слепцов поводырь и лукавый хранитель секрета
Прельстил свои жертвы рассказом, что в гуще туманов
Найдут они меч — посвящением знаний завета;
 
Лишь тот, кто окажется более ловким и сильным,
Лишь тот, кто презрел свои страхи и ужасы ада,
С клинком покорит Замок славы — у края могилы
И с трона низвергнет хранителя лунного сада.
 
Им мачеха — жизнь, а смерть — повитуха и сваха,
И зеркалом зла отражается озеро праха.

thy helm or thy armor with totem’s skin, 
Let it go without passion and jealous doubt …

Рыцарь и Волк — лишь тень в лабиринте страха.
Спит за спиною ленивой змеей пустыня,
Ядом познания сны отравив, и отныне
Самообманы — немые предвестники краха
Детских фантазий и неприступной гордыни —
 
И вот уже мертвые ветви, скрывая капканы
Ржавым железом рисуют кровавые раны;
 
Чтоб сохранить в себе смысл и живое начало,
Не замарав его ложью, кровью и грязью,
Зверю оставь право жить, а оскалом пасти
И снятою шку рой тотема не украшай ристало,
И отпусти без ревнивых сомнений и страсти...
 
Рыцарь и Волк - как союз человека и зверя,
Но скрыта земля туманов тогой безверия.

Прочтение сонетов для альбома Рыцарь и Волк — специальное издание, которое призвано обратить внимание слушателя и зрителя на историю главного героя сюжета оригинального альбома.

История странствий главного героя альбома Рыцарь и Волк изложена в поэтическом либретто. Его ключевая часть — сонеты, которые сопровождают иллюстрации и музыку. Данный альбом является мелодекламацией.

Музыка альбома была специально интерпретирована для данного издания. Сонеты читает нижегородский актер и руководитель театра-школы «Образ» Алексей Макаров.

Сонеты представлены в архитектонической форме, которая предполагает четырнадцать стихов, конечная строка каждого из которых является начальной строкой следующего. Теперь вы сможете оценить сонеты в озвученной формате и в сопровождении интерпретированной музыкой альбома.
