Wow, I want to Thank You guys so much for all of your support for 2021. You guys listened to my YouTube channel over 1.2 million times this year from every corner of the globe. I like many of you had a couple of challenges this year but as we know, Music continues to be a "safe space" and an incredible sanctuary.  This is my last mix of the year and I guess its fitting that its a Vinyl Sessions set. As you can see vinyl has me totally "Hooked" like I was when I first started playing records growing up in Detroit in the early 80's. This is my 8th "VS" mix this year, (LOL) that's a lot of wax but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Vol. 13 starts out with an all time classic "You Used to Hold Me" by Chicago legend: Ralphi Rosario, brought back to life on 7" by Kai Alce and DJ Spinna. (Whew) There are also bangers from Monique Bingham, Louie Vega and a couple from Peven Everett to name a few and I ended it with some "Life Music" from my homie Gari Romalis. This mix was so fun to make and I really hope you guys enjoy it makes you smile. Ok enough is enough, Let's Dance!!!

This is my first mix of 2022 and of course its a Vinyl Session. As you guys can tell, I'm addicted to the vinyl all over again (LOL). "VS14" starts off with two of my all time favorites and two songs that truly convey a positive message that we can take with us throughout the year. "In Time" reminds us that all things are working together for our good. And "Days Like This" simply reminds us to really appreciate each and every day that we are given. Each Vinyl Session seems to have a different vibe and some different twists and turns but they all are just so much fun to create. I never know where I'm going to end up musically speaking. So you should know the drill by know, set some time aside and get comfortable and let's get ready to Dance!!!  (Enjoy)

DJ Friction was born in 1970 near Stuttgart in Southwest Germany. He began mixing and collecting Records in 1985. After competing in various DJ battles (such as the DMC German Championships 1991) he had his first residency in a club in Stuttgart in 1991. 

During the same year he began producing for local rappers and singers and throughout the 90's he was mostly known as a hip hop DJ and as a founding member, DJ and co-producer of the chart topping rap trio Freundeskreis who were responsible for 2 gold selling albums.

In recent years he's also made a name for himself in the disco-edit scene with his respectful edits of disco funk classics and rarities which he's been releasing on his label own Replay Records since 2003. Check out his edits and other work below.
