Add to that a producer’s catalogue on labels such as Sino, KEY Vinyl, Construct Re-Form, Clergy, and more - Benales is true to the craft.🔊

For his SPND20 Mixtape, he went fully purist: two Technics SL-1200MK2s, a mixer, and a Zoom H5 - with nothing but records from his personal archive. Expect tracks spanning early 90s gems through 2000s essentials to today’s sharpest cuts. These are some of the first records that pulled me out of French house and into the deeper side of electronic music: Shari Vari, Join in the Chant, What Time Is Love?, early I-F and Parallax Corporation, Alden Tyrell, Legowelt, Carretta, Agoria, and later the Gesloten Cirkel and Hacker cuts. Played in chronological order, they trace a clear line from early proto-techno and EBM into The Hague’s electro machinery and the darker European sound that came after it. I haven’t heard a lot of these in years, so the show is a way of going back to where it started, before jumping forward to the present with Blawan – WFT to close it out.
