Aquifer

Another track from the album I'm working on. It started as a series of timestretched field recordings to which I added layers of guitar. I ended up ditching all of the timestretched sounds, wasn't pleased with it, but I'm happy how that decision turned out. Still some polishing to do, maybe adding some things here and there, and of course it isn't mixed yet - nor mastered. Let me know what you think!

Gamin je rêvais d’océans de lointaines terres et de géants 
Mais pas d’y trouver le néant en allant dans l’océan 
Aspiré par un béant trou j’y ai perdu l’élan 
Au milieu des éléments déchainés comme un dément
Qui m’attirait tel un aimant dans les entrailles évidemment 
Du vide à des lieues de maman où rien ne fut comme avant 


Bravant les flots je domptais des eaux agitées 
Suivant le courant pour ne pas lutter [pas lutter]
Cherchant le réseau afin de remonter [remonter]
À la surface pour enfin m’échapper
De la mélodie qui m’entraînait malgré tout vers le fond 
Parodie de chants de sirènes provenant du tréfonds
Des abîmes ou bien de mon être puisque l’on confond 
Lorsqu'on est sous pression le vrai du faux par inattention

Dans l’océan je m’enfonçais tant bien que mal tout en essayant 
De ne pas paniquer pour autant 
Dans l’océan j’ai tout tenté pour occulter mon sort effrayant 
Tout en me débattant

Malmené par les vagues je dérivais tel un fétu d'paille
Au péril de ma vie parmi les mailles d’un filet sans trouver la faille 
Pour passer au travers de ces tenailles naturelles
Qui s'apparentaient plus aux phénomènes surnaturels 
Qu’aux dangers bien réels auxquels j’étais confronté 
Comme une ultime épreuve qu'il fallait surmonter
Pour que ce jour ne fut pas le dernier de ma carrière écourtée 
Car si je m’étais résigné j’aurai bien fini par couler 


Sous une avalanche d’eau  j’y aurai laissé ma peau 
On aurait baissé le rideau sur ma vie mais mon égo
Jugeait cela beaucoup trop tôt de partir ainsi sans échos 
Dans le silence le plus atroce sans avoir écrit un mot 
À mes proches à l’abandon à qui je léguais que des questions 
Sans réponses et sans raison de disparaître de cette façon
