We like to think of ourselves of social chameleons here at Data Transmission; as at home in the glamour of Ibiza and Las Vegas as we are in a basement in Berlin. Well this week see us head to Berlin for ‘Glitz’ with an exclusive mix from Andreas Henneberg and Daniel Nitsch as The Glitz following the release their first album together, 'No Drama' on their label Voltage Musique Records.

Born in, loving and working in the pulsating German capital Andreas comes with quite a pedigree when it comes to electronic music as the founder Voltage Musique Records” in addition to being the mastermind behind the 'The Glitz' and 'Hennon' aliases as he releases on some of the scenes hottest labels with the likes of IDEAL Audio, Confused Recordings and Toolroom all housing his talents.

With 15 years experience behind the scenes Andreas is probably one of your favourite producers even if you don’t quite know it having had a hand in a plethora of classic productions from behind the scenes as as a producer, label owner, mastering-engineer and of course as a DJ. It’s his skills as the latter we’re showcasing today with his and Daniel's unique blend of sounds refusing to conform to categorisation as it’s too busy moving the dancefloor . Time to dust off the dancing shoes we think…

The sun is shining over Berlin, the water in the Spree is so clear that the dolphins have come back, the black rhinoceros bites into the lush grass in the Berlin parks, in the Müggelsee you can hear the Israeli disc mongers croak and because that's not enough, we have the next podcast for you. 😋

This time with the well-known, Flo aka. vom Feisten. In a small interview we got a little insight into what he is doing besides his DJ career. Among other things, he is a friend of the round leather, so he spends his free time with the most popular ball sport in the world. He is also an excellent poker player, rumored he would win any tournament if luck didn't matter in poker.
And as it should be, for an in Berlin living guy, he likes to be guided by his feeling. He told us that of course everything has advantages and disadvantages. We only say that success proves him right.

When both artists of Zodiak Nice initially found their love for turntablism and electronic music, it was still in the end of the late 90s.

Yet, it was only a matter of time until the two finally met behind the decks of a sunday afterhour where they played together for the very first time. The positive vibe and the musical energy, alongside a lot of fun,
is what ultimately lead them to meet again.

Many spontaneous sessions followed and they were soon to realize that they were just on the same wave length, musically and personally. Connected by their true passion for music, a personal and creative
relationship developed which ultimately resulted in collaborative work as a natural consequence.

Finally, in 2012, they joined forces and the mutual dj-project "Zodiak Nice" was founded.
 
Zodiak´s music is deeply inspired and influenced by legendary Berlin clubs like Casino, Ostgut and Tresor, as well as the melodic aspects of Chicago house or the hammering elements of Detroit techno.

Their style is characterized by a very unique warmth and an atmospheric touch that never loses its reference to the greater whole.
Even though, bassline-driven techno and house reduced to its most minimalistic essence forms the basis of their sets, also hypnotic deepness has become a crucial element in their outstanding dj-performances.
 
Unsurprisingly, they were soon invited to prove their quality in established Berlin night clubs like Sisyphos, Golden Gate or Katerholzig on a regularly basis. Meanwhile, also multiple locations far beyond the borders of Berlin were graced with the musical expertise of these two up-and-coming artists.

Listening to their DJ-sets, it becomes clear that Zodiak Nice just inhabits this unique and distinctive sense for fantastic and qualitative sounds that any outstanding performer requires.Therefore, their ultimative goal is to present to the audience their very own interpretation of electronic underground dance music. Yet, they have established their very own style without following any trends or being confined to any genre-related stereotypes.

In 2014, their musical career was about to reach a new level.
Focusing on new visions, they started producing their own music and are currently also working on their debut release, which will surely become an integral and critically acclaimed part of the scene.

So as we have seen, Zodiak Nice is surely a name to look out for in the future.
