Gaia Groove is the sonic embodiment of Mauritian artist Karan Damania, a visionary weaving a bridge between ancient ritual and contemporary electronic expression.

Born in 2018, Gaia Groove emerged from the underground as a deep exploration of rhythm, consciousness, and collective emotion. During the global lockdowns, his immersive live sessions resonated across borders, introducing him as one of the key figures shaping the Mauritian electronic scene.

In 2020, he was selected by an Australian progressive label to represent their sound as a DJ, a milestone that propelled him onto international stages. Since then, Gaia Groove has shared lineups and warmed the floor for acclaimed artists such as Merkaba, Sumiruna, Airi, Hypogeo, Slip Hypnotic, and many others, bringing his own hypnotic storytelling to dancefloors across Mauritius and beyond.

His performances are more than sets; they are rituals of connection. Each journey is crafted with purpose, blending unreleased gems, intricate grooves, and original productions that blur the boundaries between the organic and the digital, the emotional and the cerebral.

With releases on Zenon Records, Dense Nebula Records, Techgnosis Records, and Universal Tribe Records, Gaia Groove has carved a distinct sonic identity rooted in precision, depth, and intention. His music explores the duality of nature and technology, the ancient and the futuristic, the self and the collective.

Guided by a philosophy of purity, purpose, and presence, Gaia Groove continues to expand his artistic journey through both performance and production. Today, he stands as one of the defining voices in the Mauritian electronic underground, known for his authenticity, precision, and purpose-driven artistry. His mission is simple yet profound: to remind us that dance is sacred, a return to self through sound.

Sigil, aka Andrew, expresses his inner self in sonic form. It turns out that his inner self is quite patient and elegant, unlike the clumsy meat-suited human that stumbles around Earth. 

He has enjoyed bleary moments waiting around airports in order to perform all over Europe at festivals such as Boom (Portugal), Ozora (Hungary), Anthropos (UK), Kosmos (Finland), Egodrop/Goa Dupa (Poland), SUN (Hungary), Sonica (Italy), Festival Harmonic (France) and of course Suti (though he drives to that one).
 
Andrew has two other musical projects - psy-techno "Unicorn Hunters" with Seb G, and experimental semi-improvised live act "AMP Project" with Patrick Ferreira (clarinet) and Marco Rosa (violin). He is also one of the main disorganisers of Suti Festival, a small gathering focused on cutting edge psychedelic music in Portugal. As "Sigil Audio" he works on sound design projects for digital artists. He lucked out in being welcomed into the epically good label Merkaba Music and rather lovely Portuguese chill collective "Moondance". 

Sigil lists his sense of humour among his strengths, while writing biographies for himself in the third person sits firmly on the side of his weaknesses. If you join his Patreon he will show you some ways to get a computer to make silly noises for you.
