The sun shines again in the Berlin sky and warms up our hearts, colors become vivid and the rhythms more vibrant. It is the right time to welcome Lui Mafuta (https://soundcloud.com/luimafuta) to our podcast series and to spread his seductive and enveloping sound into the warm breeze. 
Lui’s passion for music began in his adolescence when he started playing jazz drums alongside his father. He was greatly influenced by hip hop beats which formed the bedrock of his sound and early productions. 
However, the discovery of the so called ‘downtempo’ brought a remarkable change in his career as producer and introduced Lui to electronic music. The ease of the rhythms and the openness of the people crowding the scene helped him find a new form of expression, and shaped him to the brilliant producer that we know. Lui finds his inspiration in the energy of the crowd, and it´s his mission to return that energy in form of fresh sound. 
Lui finds enjoyment and motivation in the freedom that music production itself entails. The set he prepared for UCR was recorded live and consists exclusively of his own productions which are masterfully blended for us. We invite everyone - music lovers and attentive listeners, to experience that freedom too.

It's been a long time since we started this project and we met some fantastic people on our way. Nevertheless there are two boys who live half a continent away and are at the same time as close to us as they could possibly be. It's good to know that there are people around who share the same vision and Geju (@g-e-j-u) definetly work magic when it comes furthering the genre. Their history of countless performances around the globe in combination with them hosting captivating events in their hometown, they truly are two stellar figures in this movement. Since my childhood i'm playing the saxophone in several live combos. But one day I also fell in love with electronic music.... I like it smooth, I like it slow, I like it driving and drifting. I love to spread my vibe daytime on music festivals, sharing storytelling dj sets and of course still love jammin the saxophone with soulfoul musicians. Once in a while I combine and make live saxophone Dj sets.
In 2018 Me and my friend lockige Ostsee (@Sattlord) founded the @Faultierdisko(sloth disco). We are a Dj team and we have a radio show in our home town Rostock. With the @Faultierdisko podcast series on Soundcloud we support artists and spread our slothdisco vibe. Give it a listen!

New year - new set! :DDD
With this spontaneous musical journey I wish you all a loving and truthful year 2021. What exciting times...without words. In the last few months my personal musical output wasn't been really in focus as I prepared myself for a self-sufficient future. Actually, I've been waiting and preparing for this scenario for half my life. I’m very grateful and so it was a great pleasure to play a spontaneous New Year's Eve set on the beautiful Costa de la Luz - Andalusia with a small caravan-tribe after a long time of not playing live. I didn't expect it to unfold so phääät. It all felt into place so nicely... and so some happy, colorful off-grid-lovers came together and created a welcoming space. At 8pm I sat down to my promo emails, some collected songs from the past two months and went through a few unreleased Monada gems from our awesome artists and at 10pm I was ready for a completely improvised journey. I love mixing sets with tracks that are almost unknown to me, so I'm able to start completely untethered and free. Free mind - free heart!
Et voilà.. here is my deep trippy slowtech New Year’s Eve mix à la San Miguel. :))) Okay, before I write a novel here.... enjoy the set & much fun listening. I send a lot of love and clarity – On that note, let's welcome a human and natural 2021 full of love, acceptance and freedom of expression. <3
