CLB 218: Navigating Transitions, Consciously

This track started as a short repetitive idea for dance performance called „Contact Line“ by Ukrainian dancer Nika Horiacha. I kind of liked the initial atmosphere of the piece so I tried to evolve the whole idea into full track with hints of psychedelia and trip hop (maybe?).

Shadow Life

First track of Beat Sculputure series where I focus on short beat-oriented musical ideas.

This beat/theme is originally part of larger sound design which I created for dance duet called "Paradoxical Bodies" by Ukrainian choreographer Yana Reutova. Definitely repetitive, trippy and little bit unsettling...

Personal soundtrack for navigating through chaos, whirling like dervish, watching the weather change. Anticipation builds...voices in my head keep me going...encounters and emotions...experiencing landscape...dreaming high above.

Myriads

The atmosphere of this track is based around the idea of the feminine element as a vital part of our being. The initial inspiration and some of the field recordings came from amazing exhibition "Beauty" that was held in Benedikt Rejt Gallery in Louny, Czech Republic. Enjoy the ride!

Recurring image of underground temple. My eyes are wide open. This place is breathing through my lungs. Crystals flickering and various scents filling the space.  Shadows whispering here underneath the surface where time does not exist. The diamond shaped eyes looking at me from the dark and reading my thoughts.  You have to forget your name and open your skin. Inhale all the tension and exhale light. 
Sometimes there are more things in your heart than you can carry…

Mekong Drifters

This track was the closing piece for the performance “The Sign” which took place at Nábřeží umělců 2019 festival in Hradec Králové. 

The main theme of the performance was the idea of eco cultural collapse which eventually leads to scarcity of water resources. By revealing the sensitivity and intelligence of nature, our senses are pulled out of the usual way of seeing and hearing. 

Face to face to our fate as mankind we adapt new strategies that help us survive and regain some stability in our shaken world, some of them of practical/economic and some of them of mythical/mystical nature. 

Now in the Coronavirus time these strategies/revelations are needed more than ever..something old ends something new begins…and the wheel keeps on turning.

Zóna is the artistic project of site-specific performer Tereza Kerle and musician/music producer Tomáš Kerle.  Zóna is focusing mainly on site-specific projects and live shows.

Zóna means danger and fascination at the same time, it represents world without end.

We draw our inspiration from many directions but the main impulse comes from wandering and exploration of different landscapes, both natural and urban. At every place we are present with our body, mind, spirit and our dreams. 

The Vision is to create deep and immersive experience that takes the audience with us on the journey. 

In our recent projects we incorporate performance, live instruments, field-recordings, electronic processing and abstract visuals.
