After a necessary pause to organize our thoughts, we return stronger than ever with the 28th reference for our catalogue. We welcome Nickon Faith, a young UK producer based in Manchester, who creates a progressive and melodic atmosphere in “Flow With You”. 
Indeed, as a child, he was first influenced by Tangerine Dream, and more recently, by artists the likes of Bicep and Bonobo. 

The sounds’ originality and the subtle female voices fill with melancholy a straightforward elegant House Groove. As for the end of the EP, we rely on two of our favourite artists from the SD crew. 
Luis Palomo is an expert at leaving one speechless. Ludowick re-invents the original song, in this occasion, with an amazing big fat break 90s piano tune. 

Pedro Sanmartín is in top form, as his last year releases prove. The Norway-based artist delivers a deep epic heavenly version, twisting and detuning arpeggios.

Exclusive: Sir Lord Comixx - After The Sun Fades

Founded back in 1996 by Felix Dickinson & Tony Lee Ugly Music has always captured House- and Techno music's momemtum still remaining true to the origin of the music by providing their followers as well as music enthusiasts with classy releases that have a classic note. And Ugly Music has managed to remain true to their style, even after 25 years of putting out music and dedicating themselves to what the label is passionate about – maybe that's the label's formula of success, maybe it's just knowledge, experience and the love for music. However, Ugly Music rings in the third season of 2021 with a stellar four tracker from UK's finest Sir Lord Comixx that goes by the name of Play Loud, Be Proud. The EP definitely does exactly what it says on tin and when following the instructions from its title. The A2, After The Sun Fades, seemingly is a dedication to the blue hour of the day and all its beauty. A tapping bass line is shortly after it's first beat provided wih an irresistable synth-line and pushing hi-hats that makes the listener loses him-/herself in those chords. And even if Sir Lord Comixx only uses little effects and the track itself is basically built around the synth-line, After The Sun Fades is close to perfection or maybe it is, because it is not an overloaded track and just focuses on what's important.

Up next on Upon You Rec. is Hartford, Connecticut-based producer Eddie Merced, a name that’s been making waves since his debut - “From Within” - came out in 2016, earning himself instant praise from seminal figures like Laurent Garnier. Stepping up with a trio of his signature oneiric, mind-expanding wares, Eddie takes us on an odyssey-like voyage into the deeper end of techno’s atmospheric spectrum, making the rounds from alien-engineered architectonics towards velveteen, near-lounge-y abstraction.

The journey begins with “Towards A Dream” - a self-revealing roller beaming us up to far-flung Saturnian lands as it unfolds a slo-hatching meshwork of sun-washed pads, raucous bass work and boggy 303 talk. Rising the pressure a notch further, “High Virgo” is a laser-guided weapon aimed at subjugating dance-floors through steadfast onslaughts of delayed drums, gut-churning kicks and Eddie's typical hi-intensity synth hoodoo from outer-space. Last but not least, UY co-founder Marco Resmann adds his havoc-wreaking, dynamic spin to “Towards A Dream”, turning the dreamy original into a full-fledged club destroyer, primed for ruff n'tuff peak time action. Equally at ease in an open-air setting or busting kneecaps in the darkness of a jam-packed basement.

– Hush, fluffy, we should stay incognito at least until we meet with the informant. Don't jump to conclusions — I think that everything happened for a reason.
The streets of Chinatown attracted by the smells of exotic cuisine, what cannot be said about the sudden appearance of the detectives. Anyone who even occasionally felt the inquisitive eyes on them shied away from them. Sellers of all sorts of things were fussily whispering and continuously watching every step of the uninvited guests. The whole block seemed to know about the ongoing investigation. Looking around intently, the professor suddenly came across the strange but very familiar tracks.
"It can't be... the credentials and password turned out to be fake! Cat, follow me!" – Spacelunch made a note in his diary and walked rapidly along the stalls. He knew that the truth was somewhere nearby.

After a year of lethargy, SD Records returns with a tremendous EP signed by Ludowick.
One of the most beloved remixers of the family finally deserved a solo EP, and the occasion has arrived in the SD 30th release.

Always Dreaming becomes one of the high points of Luis' career, of which we still don't know its peak. The EP is made up of 3 songs simmered for 5 years, and although they represent 3 different moods, the common denominator is the dancefloor.

Vitamin is a timeless Garnerian ode, confetti-scented but meticulously crafted. Luis germinated the idea a few years ago but took it up again last 2022 with new ideas to create this marvellous anthem.

Always Dreaming creates a minimalist and dreamlike atmosphere thanks to the dub dyes of the house, accompanied by a tech-house rhythm with sounds of the mythical 909.

In Its So Good Luis lets us glimpse his love for 90's house and 80's pop, with a vocal and tribal track inspired by artists like Yazoo or Madonna.

One half of esteemed house duo Waifs and Strays, Amos, launches his new alias: Part Time Lover. Debuting on Crosstown Rebels with Don’t Hesitate, the EP is a stunning six track release that features vocals from Danielle Moore and Oli Gosh, as well as remixes from PBR Streetgang

The EP opens with Don’t Hesitate. A pure house groover, Oli Gosh’s vocals provide the track with a seductive flare, whilst the swinging bassline rolls alongside dynamic pulsing keys. Second up is the dub version of Don’t Hesitate. Stripped back yet still wholesome, the mix features whirring pads. Tied comes next, as Danielle Moore’s incredible soulful vocals coat the record with a dance-ready warmth. PBR Streetgang are first up on remix duties, providing an acid-flecked reinterpretation of Tied that harks back to the 80s with electro-like synths and distorted kicks, before their dub mix continues in a similarly driving vein.

English vocalist Oli Gosh has featured on Dutch house music label Armada Deep. Danielle Moore has been the lead singer of Crazy P since 2002, releasing on the likes of Wolf Music Recordings and Smoke ‘N’ Mirrors. PBR Streetgang released their standout album Late Night Party Line last year on the esteemed Skint label.

Exclusive The Cheapers 'M10 (Dave DK Remix)'

It's without a doubt that Dave DK has put his stamp on the electronic music scene even though he keeps his musical output quite low, therefore high when it comes to quality. Ever since his first appearance he's had releases on labels such as Kompakt, Moodmusic, Playhouse, Hart&Tief and Pampa, which emphasizes Dave DK's demand to have his music released on few selected and extraordinary labels only. Over the span of almost two decades he's come up with 19 EPs, two albums and 85 remixes and, as of December 2019, can add two more to his impressive discography. Even though it's surprising yet fortunate that the Berlin 'surfer boy' that David Krasemann, Dave DK's real name, even has two pre-Christmas presents for his audience during Advent and spreads, at least in spirit, some Christmas dance floor magic – none caribou-ish but sweet as candy style. The first remix, released on Hippie Dance last week, showst he producer's preference for pop-ish elements in a House music context as his upcoming remix for The Cheapers' track 'M10' on TAU depicts a darker more tool-ish and club-oriented side, still both approaches have the Dave DK-twist. Shortly after and shortly before the releases Torture the Artist caught up with the David, who takes us on an animal-Badu-ish-emotional rollercoaster-ride through music with words. 

The Cheaper's EP 'Poems' will be released on TAU on December 13th, 2019.
