Marquis a.k.a. Grand Marquis. Was born in New York and relocated to Northern Virginia when He was nine years old with his family. He always loved music as a child and eventually began playing songs on his keyboard he heard and replayed by ear. At times, He would sit in his room and play original songs, and other times He would write lyrics as they came to his head. His style of music has always been hip-hop and R&B and his major influences have been Biggie, Nas and Jay Z. As and adult he has emerged as a well know rap artist in the DMV area. To date, one of his major accomplishments was the opportunity to open up for Bone Thugs & harmony and naughty by nature in front of 20,000+ people. Johnnie PH birth  name  Johnnie Odom was born April of 1978. He was born and raised in the city of Newark, New Jersey to a Bobbie Jean Odom (mother) and Johnnie Guilford (father). He also has eight siblings, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
Johnnie PH began singing in church at an early age and discovered his love for the art with each passing service. His influences are Bobby Womack, Luther Vandross, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson and countless others. Being involved with music since a teenager, In 2006 Johnnie PH wrote his first song and decided to continue to perfect his craft and learn the Business of Music. Music genres; Rhythm and Blues, Soul and Pop.
Johnnie PH graduated from Luis Munoz Marin middle school and Barringer Preparatory school in Newark, NJ by 1996. Then moving to New York he received his High school diploma in 1999. Next he attended Mercer community college for Business management in 2006. Afterwards he began taking the necessary steps to become C.E.O. of his own Record Company. Continuing his education, Johnnie PH graduated Drake college of business as a Microsoft office specialist in 2015.
In 2008 Johnnie PH joined several social media networks such as myspace, facebook, twitter, youtube, reverbnation, last fm and dattpiff.com. It didn't take long to make a name for himself with much support. Next in 2009 Johnnie launched an Independent Record Label, Purple Heart Entertainment LLC, Then the summer of 2009 he released his first Promo mix cd titled- Enter The Maze. Afterwards, he released his second Promo cd titled- Lost In The Maze in 2012.
Leaving the Music scene for a while, Johnnie is back to business as usual and is back at all the above social media networks and more such as instagram and soundcloud. In 2014, Enter The Maze and Lost In The Maze was re- released. Finally the highly anticipated collaboration of Ezzell Grandmarshall Odom (Brothter) and myself is here.The Promo lp- Evolution will be released July 2015. The single Speechless can be found on all the above social media networks. 2015 JohnniePH will be working on his Original solo album.
