MORE MUSIC HITS TEN WITH PRODUCER TOBY TOBIAS

We’re super-proud to announce that the tenth single on electronic imprint More Music is the latest from the brilliant musical mind of Toby Tobias. We’re also delighted that this release is coming out on vinyl for only the third time in the label’s history, following in the illustrious footsteps of Timo Maas and Midland before it.

2011 has been a vintage year for London DJ/producer Toby Tobias. Not only has he played at key clubs from Australia to Croatia, he also turned in a killer remixes for Toro Y Moi and Franz Ferdinand (which is due to drop any day now) and he continues to impress with his own Tracky Bottoms label. But as befits a record that goes back to the spirit of real disco and the 12” dance single, we’re delighted that the tenth release on More is arguably our strongest remix package to date. Toby’s own versions has been augmented by some brilliant reworks from Bicep and Hot Creations man of the moment Lee Foss – two hot potatoes who have taken the original version and taken it to a more upbeat house direction. From the soulful original to a cool, muscular house mix from Bicep to Lee Foss who heads to the front of the new school class, this is a straight up vocal smash with a mix for every flavour. Zoo Look add the exta beef to the already substanial package with a remix and a dub, keeping to the low slung disco moodyness which has been turinng heads with their Tenth Circle output and recently shared Sccucci Manucci 12" release.

As for the original song, Toby worked long and hard to get it right, delivering four versions of the track that were all relevant to the dance-floor. He also found the perfect vocal foil in Brendan Reilly. “Brendan delivered such a great vocal,” smiles Toby. “It was a joy to work with him, hence the several versions I delivered for different dance-floor moments. I’m super-happy with this whole project and how it’s turned out.”

For their second release,label "Let’s Go Swimming" signed Doppelate. Hailing from south London, he brings us a stripped back, four track house record which strikes a beautiful balance between gentle melancholia and blissed-out dance ﬂoor moments !  "Soaked In Honey" here  opens the EP with a sampled conversation between two friends (quoted above). Subterranean keys and a prominent bassline drive this poignant, and yet carefree, sunset club track. Release date : 9th September !

Besides launching his fresh Bodybuilder Quartet series (QSB), inaugurated by Scott Franka, Nachtbraker unveils yet another Quartet: four records in the The Trophy Quartet series (QST). Both these two Quartets will be released over the course of the next two years.
The Trophy series will cover the warmer side of the house music spectrum. And who better than Parisian boy-wonder Tell (Banoffee Pies, Skylax, Rutilance) to kick off proceedings with the brilliant “Faster Than Light” EP. Last year he released “Hope Springs Eternal” on QS003 which was an overnight succes after getting rinsed by heavyweights like Jeremy Underground and Detroit Swindle, so a proper solo EP was inevitable.

On the A1 Tell serves up some intergalactic French filter house dubbed “Faster Than Light”, which brings back the Daft Punk and Armand van Helden vibes of our Walkman-days. We all just love filters, admit it. Its true. Next up is “Ya’ll Feel That Honey (Paradise Mix)”, a tune with undeniable swing and moody chords that ultimately collide beautifully with a delectable big room piano riff that will stay in your head for days. B1 opens with a leisurely-paced jam called “What Can U Do For Me”. It’s the ‘pretty one’ of the EP, the one girls fall in love with and boys hate to love because they know he’s hot stuff. A high pitched vocal, asking what you can do for her, flies over rubbery Rhodes chords with neat percussion keeping you on the groove. The EP closes with B2 “Vamos A La Playa”. Keywords: coconuts, sand, bikini, six-pack and tan. Vamos!

David Douglas (1799) was a Scottish plant hunter who explored North America collecting seeds of plants and trees unknown to mankind at that time. Inspired by the Scottish botanist, David from '83 started looking for his own musical seeds. The greatness of nature – the sublime mountain landscapes, Icelandic lupine fields, arctic coastlines, Californian fir forests – invigorate his music.

'Royal Horticultural Society' is David’s debut EP although it sounds like anything other than a debut. His music can be described as warm, playful, analog, adventurous, diverse and pure. But most of all as he quotes himself: 'It's electronic music for the mind'.
