Music is love continue welcoming new friends to the label, on this occasion we find rising star Harrison BDP  with  firm favorite Liam Geddes providing a stella remix for the labels 17th vinyl release. 

Harrison albeit at the start of his career has already amassed some serious attention through his growing following,  choice releases , and his immersive production style and we are sure this EP will only strengthen his standing as a rock solid producer who can deliver stylistically time after time.

A1 opens with the impeccable  “I Still Meet You in my dreams from time to time“ a track where the listener can feel the emotional content Harrison is trying to convey and the reason you can hear this is down to the sheer quality of the production, huge swelling riffs balanced against the intricate minimal phrases will induce a huge wave of euphoria to any floor. A2. See’s MIL mainstay Liam Geddes back on remix duties taking “I Still Dream” where Liam loves to take it, deep and dubby. Liams take on groovy heavy sub bass interplay makes this a certified Liam Geddes banger .

B1. Washes away the dub of Liams remix with a delightfully energetic summer humdinger of a track. Showing the breadth of Harrison’s production prowess, this track is smothered in clever samples, funky bass lines and a perfect example of  what an original approach to production this boy has. B2. See’s Harrison close with his track “Time is of the essence” keeping things light and airy, this almost feels like the ying to Liams  A2 yang, instead of dark and brooding dub we have sunset music drifting away on its wings as it crescendos towards its end.

1Trax’s eponymous mix compilation series hits the ‘Three’ mark this August with a contribution from house and garage darling, Huxley. Following exceptional instalments from Matt Tolfrey and Subb-An, 1trax’s compilation series has a knack of catching artists at just the right moment and ‘Three’ is no different.

Huxley, aka Michael Dodman, has had an outstanding 2012. Building on an already rock-solid career which has seen him release on Tsuba, Cecille and deliver countless excellent remixes, this year has seen the Hertfordshire (UK) producer/dj deliver an outright anthem in ‘Let it Go’ for Hypercolour alongside superb EP’s for 20:20 Vision, Leftroom and Tsuba (forthcoming). His DJing abilities have seen him grace the decks the world over as well as podcasts for the likes of Fact and I-D, while winning universal press and radio support within electronic music.

Much like the Hypercolour and Tsuba producer’s productions, his mix here demonstrates a love for a smorgasbord of quality house and garage music while continually returning to powerful bass and prominent hooks throughout.

Opening with Huxley &amp; Sam Russo’s own, airy melodies of ‘Don’t Undastand’, ‘1trax Three’ quickly develops a tight groove with future-house cut ‘Shots’ by rising star Shenoda segueing into the classic garage vibe of Jordan Peak’s imposing ‘Work’. Twitchy, tweaky house from Iz &amp; Diz is bookended by two exclusive, and sharply contrasting remixes from Huxley himself (Shenoda ‘Moments’ and Maya Jane Coles ‘Dazed’) while the deep, warehouse feel of Nyra’s ‘Best Of’ takes us into the ample belly of ‘1Trax Three’.

From the mid-section of “1trax Three’ we’re treated to a short burst of barnstormers from Gavin Herlihy (‘Get Loose’) and Huxley himself (‘Let it Go’) before the moody, guttural tones of AND.ID (‘Erotica’) and Baunz (‘808s Pause Tapes And Other Shit’) provide some late night grit.

The final section of the mix, courtesy of Robert Owens, Nina Kraviz and Little Fritter &amp; Zare, indulges Huxley’s techier leanings before giving away to Julio Bashmore’s carnivalistic remix of ‘Square One’ by Mosca, which brings back the party vibes in abundance. Closing out with 24hour Experience ft Lorraine Lowe’s Nice’n’Ripe classic, ‘Give Me That Love’, ‘1trax Three’ is a varied but cohesive mix that doesn’t fail to excite and impress.

‘1trax Three’ mixed by Huxley is released on 1trax, mid-August 2012 with a 12” sampler of the two exclusive remixes being released slightly earlier.

This new double A-side single opens with "On Tonight" which takes old school sounds and transports them to modern club sets. A funky bass bounce is complemented with squelchy synth lines and an atmospheric, submerged breakdown section. It's all driven by an insistent rhythm track to keep the floor in motion.

Berlin based talent Black Loops arrives on Madhouse Records to deliver his four-track ‘JAH Love’ EP this April, featuring two cuts alongside Nikoss.

With releases on Toy Tonics, Freerange, Pets Recordings and Neovinyl to name just a few, Riccardo Paffetti aka Black Loops has built a stellar reputation as one of house music's most consistent and impressive names since making his production debut back in 2013. A skilful hand both within the studio and behind the decks, the Italian's slick blend of deep and soulful house music takes cues and inspiration from funk, disco and beyond, with his latest batch of productions coming in the form of his ‘JAH Love’ EP on Madhouse Records this April, featuring New Zealand producer and musician Nikoss.

Title track ‘JAH Love’ opens the package through a smooth blend of skipping percussion, infectious vocal samples and funk heavy instrumentation, before ‘Your Mind’ introduces the first of two productions alongside Nikoss as rich piano melodies and acid-tinged bass patterns merge effortlessly throughout the track’s six-and- a-half-minute duration.

On the flip, ‘NYC Dirty Talks’ takes a trip across the Atlantic as resonant pads and slick drum licks combine to reveal a production that would find itself perfectly at home within any Kerri Chandler set, before rounding out proceedings with the bubbling 303 driven ‘Silly Acid’ once again in partnership with Nikoss, guided by bright keys, soft chords and vibrant low-end tones.

UK producer Archie Hamilton has announced details of his debut album ‘Archive Fiction’, forthcoming on Moscow Records. Written as a first-person exploration of the positive transformational effect of house music, it’s a narrative of a life-changing night on a dancefloor.

Informed by Archie’s extensive experiences in clubs since his early teens, ‘Archive Fiction’ is ten tracks seamlessly mixed together into one complete body of work. Merging Archie’s rich musical upbringing with more contemporary tastes, the LP incorporates his signature and trademark minimal styles with a myriad of influences including trip-hop, dub-techno, acid jazz, drum’n’bass and house.

The early tones of the LP are rooted in the melancholic sentiments of first tracks ‘Six Years Later’ and ‘Lifted’. Embracing dark and downtempo elements, the changing pace of ‘Relax Your Body’ then flips to a more positive trajectory and into one of the album’s most pivotal moments, ‘Make The Difference’ feat. Mr V. An anthemic slice of smooth and soulful vocal deep-house, this track is geared towards invoking a sense of complete sanctuary and letting go of all worries.

The heads-down ‘Can’t Be Serious’ takes the listener into more rolling territory and leads into another key moment on the LP, ‘Eye of the Storm’ featuring vocals from drum’n’bass royalty, Onallee. The ex-member of infamous Reprazent crew came out of semi retirement to feature on this cut which draws on Archie’s early Bristolian experiences.

The sparse and stripped-back ‘Dustin Off Man’ is an ode to Archie’s love of dub-techno, one of his fundamental entry points into electronic music inspired by early masters of the genre Rod Modell and Moritz Von Oswald.

The sumptuous and atmospheric ‘A Little Lower’ slows the pace and invokes a journey through dub and acid jazz, recorded with the live bass guitar acoustics of Navid Asghari, a composition inspired by Archie’s affinity to the likes of Portishead, DJ Krush and Thievery Corporation.

The soulful and life affirming sensations of ‘Quicksand’ roll into the album’s crescendo, ‘Waisted’, a vibrant and powerful slice of the signature Archie Hamilton sound, geared for peak-time energy.

An album fuelled by over 10 years of production experience and a lifetime committed to music, ‘Archive Fiction’ is a debut that showcases the breadth of Archie’s palate as a producer and his ability to transcend the world of underground house.
