Raresh Rush - Make Me (Original Mix)

Cuttin' Headz continues to define the contemporary house landscape with another superb EP, this time from Toman. The Dutchman has been hugely prolific since breaking through and his unique take on house and techno has led him to much-renowned outlets like No Art, Moscow & Eastenderz. 

This fresh new EP opens with Madrugada, a tightly coiled bit of tech funk. The kicking drums and razor sharp hi hats are detailed with cool female vocal stabs, whirring effects and dramatic fills that really make the track pop. Better Is Weather is a much deeper tune but one that still packs a punch. The super balmy pads bring a nice summery feel to the breezy late night grooves and hints of garage skip. 

All in all, another incredible standout EP from all involved.

Total Unison EP reflects where D Stone currently stands in terms of sound.

The A-side represents the melodic, disco-influenced aspect, while the B-side showcases my deeper techy side.
The A1 main track called “Total Unison” is a track produced with heavy influences from 70s disco, drawing sample inspiration from the song "Human" by Brief Encounter, produced by John Richbourg. The concept behind “Total Unison” was to create a more timeless high-energy track that can be played in both house and disco sets. My idea was to introduce a top-line melody in the first break, creating a moment that makes me pause and realize where I stand. The sampled vocal also from the Brief Encounter provides a calm moment, creating a peaceful part within the song. Ultimately, the track leads to a euphoric break where all these emotions are released and I can let go of everything as if it's a moment of liberation. The gradual addition of brass instruments and the build up of bassline, creates a strong sense of release. That's why this track has always served as the closing track of my set. The A2 is a track that draws inspiration from 90's house, radiating an energetic vibe through a fusion of high-energy synths and brass instruments, elements reminiscent of the A1 of this EP. On the other side of this EP, you'll find the B1 & B2, two more tech- infused tracks with a rolling groove. These tracks are characterized by their heavy reliance on drums, making them the perfect addition as fillers within my DJ sets.

Mike Morrisey returns to Zest with a standout EP made up of two varied original tracks, with remixes from Dafs and Simone Ellis. A message from Mike..

'The two originals seem to seamlessly incorporate my signature sound with a more stripped-back, Zest-influenced vibe about them. Subtle percussion grooves laced with energetic low ends have proven to be a hit in the clubs in the run up to release, already gathering huge support from the best of the best, and on some of the biggest club and festival stages in the game. I've really enjoyed seeing the release come to life and can't wait to share it with everyone on my imprint, Zest Records.

The first remix comes from London-based producer and friend of mine, Dafs. One of the most naturally talented musicians I've come across in all my time as a DJ, Producer and student of Music.  A multi-genre production wizard and a serious selector too, it was only right I got him involved and he didn't disappoint. Expect high-energy synths and a low end that will shake any room when played on a big system. A true credit to the release.

Secondly, It's my pleasure entirely to welcome another friend of mine to the label, Simone Ellis. From the moment I first heard Simone's music a few years ago, it was very clear to me that she had something special. Another true musical talent and without a doubt one of my favourite producers with a massive career ahead of her. I asked Simone to round off my EP with a remix in her style and the result was exactly what i'd hoped it would be.'

Ibiza Native producer Manu Gonzalez delivers two original productions on Decay Records this December with remixes from Overall Music founders Hanfry Martinez and Javier Carballo. Manu Gonzalez is one of the rare breed of home grown, super talented Ibiza DJs. Manu plays regularly at what most people consider to be the best clubs in the world; Ushuaia, HÏ Ibiza or Pacha to name a few, as well as earning a year of international shows around the world, he’s also proving himself to be a talented producer with his tracks being picked up by labels like Moon Harbour , Knee Deep In Sound or Cr2. Manu Gonzalez continues to deliver dance floor focused house music with his next release on Decay Records.
Manu opens with ‘Underground or Not’ where clean breaks and a heavy-weight kick lay the foundations for smooth chords, mellow vocal samples and acidic transitions before Tenerife’s Hanfry Martinez’ remix adds crisp house percussion, glitching synthesiser melodies and spaced out pads to compliment the vocal cuts from the original.
Up next is ‘Hipnosis’ which offers echoing organic percussion and sharp cymbal work beneath a powerful bass riff, warped samples and enveloping pads whilst Canary Islands native Javier Carballo delivers hypnotic arpeggios, evolving atmospheres and shuffling rhythms which are underpinned by a rumbling low end in his take on ‘Hipnosis’.
