Shine so bright:
a golden halo of fireflies. in a way it was much too close. i wish i could have told you then (how i feel). we sit together in darkness staring up at the sky and the stars shine so bright. i have these dreams where i know exactly what to say and you tell me you forgive me. it's going to be alright this time. if i could i would wall my ears so they hear nothing. i would have covered my eyes. if i could. and your eyes they shine so bright. in your eyes i see the truth. in your words i hear the truth.

angel closes her eyes and i'm swept away. the spark of life has become a dying flicker of hope. she said she sang to me a warning of fallen times. but i would not hear. a crumbling image of a day gone by. a tear of blood coming from sealed wound. and the sound as it rang off of the porcelain was like church bells. an angel closes her eyes for what may be the last time and it's all been seen before. but the difference is that i'm scared. the difference is that i'm scared. it has been a trying summer for us all and it seems to be reflected in the tone.

Today I woke with the strength of ten men, and the intention to start it all again. Everything I spoke and felt was meant and though meaning was uncertain, if I keep pushing further I will get there in the end. Today I hit the straight between the bends with dreams still dancing on my teeth and gold dripping from the eaves of my skeleton. I will get there in the end.

There is a hole in the ground by my house where I've buried all the words I don't carry the meaning to keep alive; I've seen them die. It seems like every time I speak I find myself back here, tearing at the ground with my mouth, fistfuls of withered flowers in my hands. I swear I tried to stop them sprouting, miming so loud on either side. When I saw you die I died.
