Wind Harp, Walltown Crags

A hydrophone recording of water boatman stridulation. Water boatmen, which are common around the world in still and running water habitats, are regarded as the loudest creature on the planet, relative to their size yet we don't hear them above water.

VLF radio signals generated by natural atmospheric electromagnetic activity recorded with a VLF radio receiver. The planet is struck around 100 times per second by lightning and each click in the recording is a single lightning flash somewhere within a 2000 mile radius
