 Zu unserem Jubiläum gibt es ein Geburtstagsständchen von Hanne & Lore. Das Duo aus Herford begleitet uns inzwischen seit Jahren und ist eine feste Institution in der elektronischen Musiklandschaft. Mit ihrem Label „Heulsuse“ setzten sie ebenfalls mit jeder EP neue Maßstäbe.

Aus diesem Grund kommt der Podcast zum vierjährigen Jubiläum, der auch gleichzeitig einen Vorgeschmack auf unsere Geburtstagsfeier am 30.09. in Nürnberg bietet, von Hanne & Lore. Viel Spaß!

Blind Motive's usual melodic style has taken a backseat with their latest release, courtesy of the legendary Todd Terry and his Sound Design imprint, this is the 'Venom EP'.

Lead track 'Venom' is carried by a stabbing lead part and hard hi hats, backed by classic hip hop samples and solid bass tones, making for an irresistible groove.

B side 'Static Colours', however, lends itself to the boys more melodic side, with subtle modular and acid elements. All in all making for a brilliant release to to help close 2016 on!

Die Berliner Herrschaften von GET WELL SOON lassen sich von 3000 Grad neue Anzüge schneidern, lassen sich ihren Netflix Serienhit für “How To Sell Drugs Online Fast” im neuen Muster häkeln. Oder um es präziser zu sagen: sie lassen sich ihre Tagesgarderobe in schnittige Ganzkörpertrikotagen umnähen. Die Nächte werden hoffentlich bald wider länger und so eine Trikotage für die Nacht muss hohen Ansprüchen gerecht werden! Schweiß muss abtransportiert werden, frische Luft muss an all die wichtigen Stellen und der Bass muss durch die Faser drücken. Mollono.Bass und Stephan Zovsky haben sich ihre Fingerhüte aufgesetzt und aerodynamische Outfits genäht. Mollono.Bass lehnt sich mit lassiv geöffneter Kunstlederjacke an die Wand und wischt sich mit dem Stielkamm die Locken aus den Augen. „Wenn man Synthpop zitiert, dann muss das sitzen!!!“ raunt er der Dame mit Dauerwelle zu, bevor er sich mit lockerer Hüfte auf den Dancefloor schiebt um seine Version des Dave Dances zu präsentieren. Er nimmt mit geschlossenen Augen den Beat an die Hand um im Duo Herzen stehlen. Der Synth wird präzise angeschlagen so das es poppt ohne zu aufdringlich zu sein! Stephan Zovskys Version des Tracks schiebt die Vocals einmal quer durchs Kühlhaus. Die Räder des Wagens knarren durch die langen und mit flirrenden Lampen be - setzten Gänge. Irgendwo im Keller hat Stephan einen Schlüssel gefunden. Er will die Vocals befreien. Die Stimmung kocht hoch, die Span - nung steigt. Es rennt noch jemand durch die Gänge. Freund oder Feind? Keine Ahnung! Der Schnitt wird hektischer. Kurz bevor der Ver - folger zugreifen kann öffnet sich die Tür: draußen ists warm, die Sonne brüllt vom Himmel und es gibt vegane Eiskreme!

Mollono.Bass leans against the wall with his faux leather jacket loosely open and wipes curls out of his eyes with the comb. "If you quote Synthpop, then it has to be right!" He whispers to the lady with a perm before he pushes himself onto the dance floor to present his version of a Dave Dance. With his eyes closed, he takes the beat by the hand to steal hearts as a duo. The synth is struck precisely so that it pops without being too intrusive! Stephan Zovsky's version of the track pushes the vocals across the cold store. The car's wheels creak through the long corridors filled with flickering lamps. Stephan found a key somewhere in the basement. He wants to free the vocals. The mood is boiling, the tension rises. Someone else is running through the corridors. Friend or foe? No idea! The cut becomes more hectic. The door opens shortly before the pursuer can gain access: it's warm outside, the sun is roaring from the sky and there is vegan ice cream.

To say Stephan Zovsky's career started in 2019 would be wrong. It would omit any mention of the two decades of DJing he’s got under his belt already, with countless gigs all over the place. It would omit any mention of his 2010 album ‘The Village’, produced with long-year musical partner Sandro Schäufler. It would omit any mention of his first set as Green Lake Project in 2016. No, to say his career started in 2019 would be plain out wrong.

Yet 2019 is a milestone year in the life of this prolific creative from Mecklenburg Vorpommern, that rural North-Eastern corner of Germany. It's the year his ‘Connect EP’ is out on 3000Grad Records, the first of a perpetual string of releases. It's the year Stephan Zovsky starts his own label Sueslide, a launching pad for his growing musical output that finally meets his notoriously high quality standards towards himself. It's also the year ‘GLP’ drops - the debut album of Green Lake Project, his successful joint venture with Mollono.Bass.

His ever increasing skill level as a DJ and producer resonates intensely with the scene and its dancefloors: His tracks rank high in prestigious charts. His inbox is flooded with remix requests, some even from rather remote music scenes like Indie or Trance. He is invited to perform his Stephan Zovsky liveact at Fusion Festival's famous Turmbühne in 2021.

His diverse background and tireless productivity make it impossible to pin Stephan Zovsky down to a particular genre. Anyway, mentioning his name in one breath with the term ‘Melodic Techno’ doesn't make him frown; the terms ‘tool-like’, ‘DJ-oriented’ or ‘club-ready’ make him smile. You won't hear him playing obvious bawl-along hits, but neither will you hear him playing nerdy, overly intellectual tunes. His understated, functional style sits comfortably in the middle, making him the perfect prime time artist for those moments when it's all about no-frills, strictly-thrills dancefloor ecstasy.

Es ist das Jahr, in dem 'GLP' erscheint, das erste Album von Green Lake Project, seinem erfolgreichen Gemeinschaftsprojekt mit Mollono.Bass.

Seine beständig wachsende Kunstfertigkeit hinterlässt in der Szene und auf ihren Dancefloors einen deutlich spürbaren Eindruck: Seine Tracks tauchen regelmäßig in viel beachteten Charts auf. Wenn wir ihn in einem Atemzug mit dem Begriff 'Melodic Techno' erwähnen, dann runzelt er zumindest nicht die Stirn; wenn wir Begriffe wie 'toolartig', 'DJ-tauglich' oder 'tanzflächenkompatibel’' verwenden, dann schmunzelt er. Vorhersehbare Mitgröhl-Hits gibt es von ihm ebenso wenig zu hören wie allzu verkopften Frickel-Sound. Mit seinen funktionalen und doch subtilen Sets passt er ideal in jene Art von Spitzenzeit, in der es ganz ohne Hype und Schnickschnack einfach nur gediegen zur Sache gehen soll.
